Ferry Corsten is due to play at Avalon (former Limelight) on Nov. 22 2003. When I saw it on Ferry's website, my first question (being non-NY resident) was "Avalon??? in NY??? HUH???":wtf: But Lia (Ferry's wife) confirmed that infact Avalon is now also open in NYC.
Here's the info:

Yeah, Avalon NY opened a couple weeks ago. Or maybe a bit longer. Either way, I've heard amazing things about it from people but Ferry is gonna be my first night experiencing it myself. Visually it seems stunning (you can find pictures online) and supposedly the sound is pretty solid as well. And yes, it's owned by the same people that own continual award winning Avalon in Boston.
Just from walking by on other nights, there seems to always be a sizeable crowd there (although I don't know the character of the crowd -- good, I would hope). I know I can't wait -- he kicked ass last time he was here at Exit (which is nowhere near as good a venue).
Anybody else got first hand experience as to what the crowd/vibe is like? |

yeah it's good, great infact (vibe vise)
but unfortunatly most of the people there are sound factory residents who made their move over to avalon and well the crowd has a combined level of 16 year old attitudes... but hey after a few drinks and the scenary blows you away you wont even care much who's around you.
i still like Roxy better dunno why? |

Sorry, but I will not be making it to Ferry nor Astral Projection, paying $30 for Pvd on friday (plus an additional $10 for Sbarros before) and another $20 for J00F on saturday is more than enough for 1 weekend. I wont be able to afford another night.
I need to save all my money for equipment that I will be buying very soon. |

I'll be @ Avalon, which is an AMAZING venue. My advice get there SUPER early. Since it's reopened it has soared in popularity. I went opening night and Halloween both times it took about 1/2 an hour to get in. Both times when I left around 5 there was still a freaking line to get in! Ferry should be a blast. I'll be there with whole bunch of CU people, many of whom will be having there first trance experience.
Can't wait. |
