Hello Everybody,
This is my second complete trance song that I've created. Please let me know what you think! Feel free to say anything, such as, if it's "crap", or I that I have no chance as a trance producer!! Your response will be greatly appreciated... Please note, five months ago, I was clueless about music theory whatsoever... The song was created in Reason, and I did NOT use any Dr Rexes...

ok... just to give you some help with producing...
I think that you have potential to become a good producer...
just work on these a bit
melody: generally, try to have more than 1 or 2 notes make up your melody... the more melodic your track is, the more chords it should incorporate too... Also, utilize some major/minor key changes so that it will make your melody more interesting... Finally, if you want a less melodic sound, you should concentrate on making an interesting synth/sound to be your melody and make sure it isn't repetitive
percussion: I find that the percussion was sounding too typical... Kick hi-hat clap hi-hat etc... While there is nothing wrong with it, people have heard this percussion over and over again... What you COULD do however, is use a similar structure while adding some fill-in percussion bits (like a shaker or closed-hat) in between and also some delay and filtering with those fill-in percussion bits to make it more interesting
Keep working at it... Most ppl give up on producing b/c they think that just by buying all the equipment and software, they can produce killer tracks while later finding out that they are producing crap (at first when starting out) and giving up. Producing is not for everyone... It takes some talent, yes... but it also takes a lot of hard work and determination...

| Pretty good.. nice dark trance song.. nice synths in there.. I like the synth at 3:07.. try putting a break in your next one (an area where there is no beat) and use the break to build up to a melody.. this sounds likea a long introduction to a melody |

| If you fix the things that Kewlness pointed out, you'll have a nice dark progressive track. Keep working at it and you'll get really far. |
