PSSL.COM is one, if not, of the better sites. They're based in Los Angeles, CA.

You should really stick with the TECH MK5 or MK2. Get them black! Forget the rest. The TT-X1 is an excellent table but more suitable for the skratch DJ. You also want to avoid straight arm tables. And about the overheating problem on the TT-X1, I haven't experienced it on mine, but other people have and they've told me about it. There is a reason why TECHNICS is the industry standard. You'll never have to replace them!

As for the mixer, why not go up a notch and grab the VESTAX-PVC-275 instead? It's got more options. Better yet, why not go for a four-channel mixer like the DENON DNX400, STANTON RM80, or the NUMARK DM1295? With the extra money, you could grab two table-top cd-players (like the Stanton S-250...if you're gonna skratch, do it on your turntables).

As for your speakers/amps problem, why not go with powered speakers like the JBL-EON-G2 or the MACKIE SRM450?

I dunno about the TTX1 being for skratch DJs, as famous turntablists cut their teeth with the OG 1200s...but I'd definelty go with the 1200s. While the NuMarks may have fancy features and a ridiculously high torque(which maybe the reason for the overheating) you really don't need all that...just a solid, strong table with basic pitch, on and off, and 33/45 buttons...everything a Technic has, nothing more, nothing less.
Trust me. I bought my 1200s used off of ebay more than 2 years ago and they still run just as good.

ok then.....
so not to use 123dj.com....
now these Amplified Referance Monitors can they be aquired at one of the online shops that was listed....same with the power speakers...
Teraform
Amplified Reference Monitors....
are these named Amplified Reference Monitors on the online shops....
or are they just regualar amps....very confused:eyespop:
dartman
yeah you can get "Amplified Reference Monitors" at those online shops mentioned. amplified reference monitors are these burly little (generally) speakers, that have a flat frequency response so you can acurately judge how your mixes sound. amplified ones just have the amp built into to the speaker, saving you money. if your looking for them online they might also be called studio monitors, or possibly just monitors.

another shop to look at is audiolines.com i just got a set of shure m44g carts from them, each with a extra stylus for the same price as prosound charges just for the carts. i also have bought stuff from prosound but if you can save a few dollars........

that's a pretty good setup there. only issue is that the shure m44-7 is a cart designed specifically for scratching a battle djs not for mixing djs. if you're just going to mix or do just a small amount of scratching then go with the m44-g if you really want the m44 series.

If you plan on buying from the states, then dont forget about the customs taxes.
Anyways, I have mk2's and I love em.
I'm planning to get a new mixer, I'm thinking a Behringer DJX-700. I've heard a lot of great things with it and its really nicely priced. Maybe you should look into this mixer as well.
What do you people think about the Behringer DJX-700??

Yo Godsound....how do you find out about how much they charge on customs....is it by weight....

I'm not sure how you can calculate it.
I had a friend buy a Pioneer DJM-600 I believe it was, and it cost around an extra $200 I believe for customs.
I'm pretty sure its around 15-20% of the item cost.
Customs come 3months after you recieve your item so you wont know right away how much you're being charged.

When I was getting my tables, I was thinking about buying off ebay because I saw a bunch of good deals in america BUT customs really scared me off. I waited and found a really good deal on my tables locally, so just wait and you'll find a good deal eventually. But if you cant wait then make some phone calls and try finding out how much customs are OR buy them at your local store.
good luck with everything!

agreed, I have the M44Gs and they are the bomb, if your gonna go with the M44 whatevers, go with the the "G"s they are wicked nice. as i said before, if you get them from audiolines, they will hook you up with a free extra stylus, that like almost $40 right there. have fun
