Hi folks,

Just completed a track that I like the sound of. Makes a change from the usual crap that I do. ;)

Go here to listen to it if you like.

It has a dreamy feel to it and may be a touch repetetive but I hope to learn from your comments so be honest but nice. :) Been DJing for years but only really got into production a while back.

I use FL producer version but would like to learn more about VSTs as I have a feeling that it will make my music experience better. Any advice etc?

All the best

Hi,

Not bad.... it reminds me those times, when such music was produced with trackers... I imagine this track as a background music for some racing game or smth.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my track and all but your comments don't really help me that much. Perhaps you could at least tell me what you think gives you this impression?

Cheers

It has a very old school feel to it, dunno why. Might be the thinness of the synths (which isnt always bad). Anyways, adjust your levels, your kick is too high in the mix, the whole song is drowning in lows. Other than that it sounds really nice.

Not too bad.. percussion is a little repetative.. try adding some FX to the percussion to give it some more.. zaz? also you've got some distortion (clipping) in there.. it isn't too noticible but there is.. just adjust your levels and add some compression to the final mix on your next track. You've got some nice clear highs in there.. but the distorted bass muddles it out. (again, lower the levels and add some compression to the final mix)

really like that synth at 3:30.. nice TS404 is it? all and all.. for a song that lacks a distinct melody.. I like it ;)

Thanks for your comments, they will definately help. Actually setting the levels is one of the things that I have a lot of trouble with. I tend to favour a lot of bass. Most likely due to the system I have running but will get some good headphones to do this in, the other reason ofcourse is inexperiance.

Thanks again

I myself would be very tempted to change the clap sound to a different one on the 2nd and 4th beats.

The one you have now sounds too much like a pop and is a tiny bit too loud.

Try tweaking the cutoff and res.
