I know there is a dodgy record store thread...

but these guys suck so bad they need a special thread of their own.

I use hard to find records and dotvinyl as well as some others on a weekly basis ....no problems elsewhere at all- any problems i get a mail or a phone call and if needed, a refund..if its out of stock the back order system works really well.. (chemical records is 10 mins away from me so no need to mail order :))

www.dmf.co.uk..

end of august placed an order for an import r and b tune i needed for work- it was literally the only place i could find it.
card debited same day, wait weeks....and nothing... give them a call

'its been sent sir'

another week- i ring them again and am told that it was returned to them by the mail service as the delivery man had tried to fold it in half (despite 'Record- do not bend' being in big letters on the front)

To cut a long story short, its been almost 11 weeks since i placed an order and i have recieved nothing- and been told for the last 4 weeks when i have requested a refund (the tune has had a Uk release now anyway!) that the manager will call me about it and 'you have been authorised extra store credit to make up for inconvenience)..

My beef with them:
at no point did they mail or call me to let me know
they ignored emails and phone calls
Bull about it being reordered and 'it should be in any day now'
refusal to grant a refund and continually pissing me about.

Anyway- barclaycard have listed it as a fraudulent transaction and refunded me the cash now..

Its the stores loss- i spend several thousand pounds on vinyl a year (its my profesion after all) and these cowboys will NEVER ever get another penny from me or anyone i can influence.

www.dmf.co.uk <------ dont do it peeps

/rant over.... :tongue3
dosed
Thanks, I'll know not to buy from them

I warned you about this store...

Seeing that you buy so much vinyl, what online store(s) have you found to have the best selection/service? I'm still looking for one I can depend on and use on a regular basis.

From US i would go for www.musicesp.com or eightballshop.com
Personally I enjoy service from HMV.co.uk...with a little convincing they'll give top service. ;)

hmv is also good for more commercial stuff (www.hmv.co.uk)
Never ordered from chemical- the store is less than 10 minutes from me :)
