----------------------------------------
So dj ron has this radioshow at my school radiostation and i was his trainee last semester.
here is part of a convo that i had with him about a month ago...
Me (12:41:28 AM): hows the show and clubgigs going
Djron (12:41:41 AM): dancemusic.about.com is keeping me busy
Djron (12:42:25 AM): working on interviews with Armin Van Buuren and Paul Masterson :-)
Me (12:42:34 AM): i love armin
Me (12:42:49 AM): hes really good i think he is gonna get higher in the top100 thing
Me (12:42:58 AM): not that polls really matter or antyhing
Djron (12:43:12 AM): of course not :-)
Djron (12:43:16 AM): but it makes booking easier
Djron (12:43:18 AM): i asked him about that
Me (12:43:26 AM): how did you talk to him
Me (12:43:32 AM): like on the phone?
Djron (12:43:33 AM): i called his cell
Me (12:43:35 AM): lol
funny... i get so used to this dj worship that i forget that they are real people... i almost forget that they can just be called up on a cell phone lol
some of you may think this is pointless but...some of you may chuckle about it as i did so... yeah : ) |

great interview....some mistakes/typos though.
pg4: Armin: "I tried to work with Final Scratch and add the tone live but the problem is..." - Think its supposed to be Ableton Live, a music software program.
also on pg4 Armin: "I basically have to drive to Amsterdam to the studio of INT" - I assume this is ID&T
just nitpicking. :) it really is a good interview though.

Armin van Buuren: Well, I consider the State of Trance a little bit like my backyard. A lot of people don't know that I don't get any money for the show and it takes a lot of time to produce the show.
He doesn't get paid? Wow. |

"Well, I consider the State of Trance a little bit like my backyard. A lot of people don't know that I don't get any money for the show and it takes a lot of time to produce the show. I don't have any producer nor any engineer that helps me with selecting the show. I basically have to drive to Amsterdam to the studio of INT. I sit down with the latest records I've bought and the show exists of the latest tracks that are in my case. I don't make any secrets of any tracks that are in my show. If there's an unknown artists, I really don't know the title as there is nothing I want to keep secret or anything. It's a cross section of records that are out at the moment. I really enjoyed listening to a lot of radio shows when I was younger and I really want to give something back to the younger crowd who don't have nay money to buy vinyls, but want to be updated on what's good and what's not. So what I do, I just play a lot of tracks, some of the tracks I'm not really sure that I like."
