Been filling out scholarships, college applications and such nonsense, and I frequently come across the request to write a short essay (~1 page) with the following topic:
Write about one of the following topics in essay format:
your school and community activities, employment, awards, community service, or other activities important to you.
The problem lies in the fact, i quite literally, have done absolutely NO extracurricular activities, have never held a job, and well lets just say i'm not big on community service either. I don't think putting "I go out and get trashed with my mates every weekend" would be a sufficient answer, even if it is the, short, and brutal truth. So I'm, quite literally, at a loss of words. My academic record doesn't suck or anything, I have a 3.39.. i haven't taken any "hard" classes, but they weren't exactly retard room math either (I took through pre-calculus math), certainly nothing to put your hands in the air about, and I got a 1430 on my SAT.
So, in my mind, this stands out as a significant problem in my applications to scholarships etc. and I haven't really milled out a way to gloss over it well.
any advice/opinions would be greatly appreciated.:gsmile: :gsmile: :gsmile: :gsmile: |
