In a word, disappointing.
It was held at the Surface part of Roxy Blu, and let me say I'm not impressed at all with that place as a venue. Excessive air conditioning in the lounge area, and almost no ventilation around the dance floor. There was sweat dripping from the pipes even though hardly anyone was dancing. The vibe at this place was not anything like the vibe at the Element parties, there was no energy at all.
Vigorito spun way too slow and minimal, I spent most of those 2 hours out in the lounge with the Greenhorn. Marco Carola's set was actually quite good come around 2:30 or 3ish (don't remember the exact time), but it was just really hard to get into it when people on the dance floor were either chain smoking or falling all over each other with their drunken dancing/making-out combo. People started leaving really early too, his set kept getting better and people kept leaving. Disappointing.
I think Carola spun a pretty good set, although I didn't stay 'til the very end. Good set, but not a very good party. I techno but I can only give this event half a thumb up.
Thanks to Mirza, Greenhorn, and Sake for showing up, would have really sucked if I'd been there alone. |
