Heyyyyyy.....how are ya?...I already have the following programs and equipment..........

sound card: project card
equipment: MX802A, 8 channel mic/line mixer, CS2X Yamaha synthesizer
USB: midiman
programs: Acid Pro,Cool Edit, Sound Forge, Fruity Loops 3,<--just got it and not too familiar, Rebirth-338 2.0

I'm not too crazy about mixing all my layered tracks and sampling all of my beats from my synth @ different levels on Acid Pro

Is there an easier way with programs I'm not aware of......

If hardware is the answer lemme know what they are and the convenience
of them

Thanks for your help.....and please don't tell me all I need is a Rebirth-338 1.5 hehe
goodnet
Mississauga representin'!

Since you've got a midi controller already (usbman), i'd say start using MIDI sequencing software to mix your tracks & externally control your synths. this way you dont have to sample your yamaha synth, you use it directly in tracks.

In this case, you'll want to use sequencing software such as Cubase 5 by Steinberg, or Cakewalk Pro. Im not too familiar with either program, but these are gonna be your choices when it comes to midi sequencing. there has been some video tutorials posted aroundhere about getting started w/cubase... gotta look for the posts tho. they had good info for those wanting to create tracks in cubase.

going w/either hardware or software is up to you. Each has thier own advantages/disadvantages. just look on google.com for "hardware vs software synths" and you'll see what I mean.
I haven't tried hardware sequencers, but im sure software sequencing is the better way to go (the ease of copying/pasting patterns).

btw, ever heard of Propellerhead's Reason? has the power of a full blown hardware studio in a software package. ive been usin' it & lemme tell you- it's one awesome program! definitely recomend it.
