this is just a heads up for everyone ..

apparently, Jeff aka. TechnoAddict and his mother share the same computer and it was hit by a worm virus that's trying to replicate itself online by sending attachments to all the above emails. if you receive this email, obviously don't open the file and instead simply delete it.

what i don't understand is why Tranceaddict emails seems to be the only ones being targeted, but perhaps it has something to do with the fact that he created that TOTA member directory..? Anyways, this is still being investigated further ..

Check attachments...pretty much everything that has a *.scr extension (screen saver)is a virus/worm. Usually it has 48-100 kb size range. I get hit with about 20 of those a day in my yahoo mail junk folder. Be careful don't open any screen savers. (*.scr)

ya i know, that's why i didn't open it ..

i found this one in my junk mail folder, probably because it had multi recipient's in the msg header .. altho one email did happen to get thru and started to get annoying ..

DAMMIT .. update ur virus definitions and XP patches Jeff !!

AFAIK - scr is the extension for executable scripts (not screen saver).

Basicly - stay away from anything that can be executed on your machine (exe, com, bat, pif, scr, dll). Don't open them.

Lastly - get a friggin virus checker. There are a number of free ones. :whip:

Actually, sending with the .com is pretty damn smart.

Since Win95 most people don't even know about file extensions and would be pretty likely to open it becuase most people would think the .com is a website attachment (rather than a COMpiled batch file).
