well..say its on the radio..radio is free to the user, so revenue has to come from somewhere...IE ADS. now on radio one, the essential mix has NO ADS. So Im not gonna complain if some bitch yells 'give it up for __________'
They are needed, but not as much as they are used. |

There's nothing wrong with an intro.....it's just when they stay on the mic......and consistently say stupid
ex. Tiesto LIVE @ Eau |

| Okay, as longest MC"s are not messing up the set, and are not talking on the best part of the song for 5 straight mins, all good, they can do a very good job but right at the moment, when they are suppost to, if you know what I mean.:) |

There's a reason for this. When TV first appeared over here it was seen as a public service device and not as entertainment. Most programme were along the lines of how to be a good housewife and . Yeah there was entertainment, but it was thought of as a public service.
Thus the humble Television License was born, though contary to it's name, we don't pay for a license to watch television, just BBC broadcasts. Most people are unaware that in theory (though this is not enforced) you need a license to listen to the radio, but it's given that by buying a television license you are also buying your right to listen to BBC radio broadcasts.
Of course there are commercial television channels, but yuo can't just say "I never watch BBC anyway" coz it's a terrestrial (sic) channel and therefore if you have a set capable of recieving television signals we have to buy a license.
So in effect, we the British public, are paying for your Essential Selection listening pleasure.
I think that's right amyways, it's probably not. |
