Steinberg Confusion

My head hurts. I'm a little confused about what seems like a million versions of Cubase. Can someone tell me what the difference is between the following:
Cubasis VST CE
Cubasis VST DE
Cubase VST32
Cubase VST 5.1
Cubase SX 2
Cubase SL
The more I do a Google search, the more conflicting information I get, confusing me further. What is pissing me off even more, is I got a CD with my soundcard that says Cubasis VST CE on it with the Steinberg logo. I had never even heard of Cubasis before, only Cubase. So wanting to understand WTF Cubasis is, I head over to the Steinberg website. Absolutely nothing. Not a single reference to Cubasis on their website anywhere. WTF??? Someone please set the record straight. Is Cubasis an old ancient verison of Cubase? Thanks for any clarification. |

Wasn't VST 4 for the mac only? I can't remember exactly, but I think it was a version that only came out on one platform. |
