i would liek to get rid of my CD player and buy an IPOD....but my only concern is about live sets.
This maybe hard to explain...but i will try.
OK...i want to buy the 40gig IPOD and place ALL my sets on the IPOD...but at the same time i want to be able to skip to certain tracks in the live set...same way u can when u burn a CD with a CUE sheet and can jump to tracks on a CD...
Now i heard that means i have to take EACH live set then split it into indivual tracks....
OK so now i have for example 70 live sets, ALL broken into indivual tracks (so i can jump to each one)...but then if i put that on the IPOD wouldnt i need a separate folder for EACH live set to hold the individual split tracks? Like 70 different folders holding all the splitted tracks?...is that possible...
for example
FOLDER 1 = DJ X - Live at X Party 2002 (split into 20 individual tracks)
FOLDER 2 = DJ X - Live at X Party 2003 (split into 18 individual tracks)
and so on
understand?
jus dont want to buy one and find that i can not have my live sets broken into tracks and be organized,
I HOPE SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS WHAT I MEAN

| I don't own one but i'm pretty much 100% positive there is directory support. Those higher storage ipods would be positively worthless without... |

you can make playlists and such, just like albums. the ipod organizes stuff in many ways.
i just put the entire live set on there as one track. its easier. |

ya def easier...BUT what if you want to go towards the end of the set?..do you have to hold fast forward?...or can u jump to any track like a CD burned with a cue file...doesnt it take time ti fast forward?...or is it like Winamp where its real fast? |

| You use the scroll thing in the iPod to scroll along a track, like in winamp where you can change to a position using the right arrow key. |

WOW...so it "IS" similar to the scroll thing on Winamp?...so i guess it is instant fast forward...so if i had a 2 hour live set on the Ipod and wanted to go to, for example, 1 hour and 20 minutes into it...all i have to do is move the scroll bar the same way as i do when i play it in Winamp?
Thats great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So i guess i DONT have to split live sets into different tracks...not when i can just scroll that fast...i did not know that...if i am wrong jus say so...:gsmile: |

is that if u have a bunch of single tracks and want to make certain ones into a compilation?... |

Its like a winamp playlist. In the ipod you can view songs by album by artist or by title or you can go through playlists you make yourself. Basically you open a playlist click a track and then it plays all the tracks in the playlist from where you started to the end. |
