This aint your average sig question, i don't want it to get lost in the other sig threads as its really not related.
anyway, if anyone knows why my sig doesnt work let me know. especially swamper or someone who knows the programming of this site.
the link in my sig -
http://somapps.med.upenn.edu/ucclin...dom2.php?O=Sigs
- is a 302 redirect to an image.
i cant see why it doesnt work unless there is some parsed restriction on sigs? - technically its accessing a php script which returns a valid jpg image URL (linked directly in an IMG tag in the sig returns normal). anyone? |

| heres an easy response : dont link php, just link the image itself. Im not really sure why your making things difficult for youself. |

| the php thinger automatically rotates it. |

| the forum script probably ignores files that aren't really images. |

wow, so i can just link an image in my signature ?!?
thanks for the obvious. if you read the question you might realize i understand a thing or too about how to write an image reference. not that its needed to answer the question i asked, which you didnt do, but the php script *generates* the jpg from multiple random elements, creating a random signature that is unique per reference.
nuclear, thanks, any suggestions
placebo, the return on the reference IS really an image. do you know if the script parse's reference tags in IMG calls? if so, i could probably just drop a jpg in the file name and fool the forum script into calling my script.
everyone else, if you dont know whats going on,dont post. if i figure this out, i'll post a mighty cool, easy to use applet that composes unique signatures based on elements and placements when i finish writing it. |

| it refuses to parse URL's containing certain characters, I'm pretty sure. I don't think it'll be possible to use a random image unless you somehow mod the server to return someone different each time. |
