| hey whats up! i am a have a huge prob!! next year i am gonna go out of country for my studies. well actually i want to be a doctor and i am gonna go to india cause it only takes 4-5 years there instead of 8 years in the US. Saves me alot of time. I wanted to know if take my decks there would it matter? another think is that do techs have a converter which lets you switch from 110v or like 210v (india got the same voltage as UK). So can some one please help thanks amit! |

Chill mate I've lived in India for a fair while and it's pretty easy and cheap to get ahold of a voltage converter there. If you're not gonna be in a big city then get one while you are in Mumbai or one of the bigger cities. just be careful you don't let anyone run off with your gear thats all and watch for people (or co-ordinated groups) pushing into you and picking your pocket, also make sure you bargain with the taxi drivers and rickshaw wallahs as they'll rip you off if.....
1. they think they can get away with it
2. You look rich
3. You look like a foreigner
4. Any and all of the above
Be prepared to pay bucksheesh (bribes) to get anything done, be it coming through customs (they tried to charge a friend $1000 cuz he was bringing a pc in). In general don't bother getting the police involved with any of this stuff as they're always involved in the local racketeering too. If they do try to get money from you just tell them you only have [ins]insert small amount of american dollars here[/ins] and show it to them and keep explaining thats all you have. Oh and keep your gear covered as you'll get dust into it otherwise which isn't good for electronics in general ;)
Anyways hope this helps. If you need any more info let me know |

| Tranzmit thats awesome! But i know the converter might not work or something! i dont think the tables will work as they used to! like the start up and then i think it will be slow. Is there any clubs in India where i can Spin some trance? i heard trance is big there? thanks for answering my questions! |

No you're gonna be fine on the power issue, as i said it's all available. Even if u get a UPS (uninteruptable power supply) which is very common over there cuz of the frequent power outs. Trance is pretty big in Goa ;) and that's also a kick ass spot. Nice cheap living etc, Heaps of tourists go there and for good reason too.
Mumbai though is the centre of the clubbing scene and they've actually got some pretty damn good clubs there believe it or not so u should be right for work somewhere. The biggest club there was Fire & Ice which was where they did the shoot for the newer smirnoff ad that was played through europe. DAMN nice girl in that heh. She was half armenian and totally foxy lol |
