CDR-Win Sucks!

Alright,
I just got a burner a couple of days ago, and going on the suggestions of this site and forum, I downloaded CDR-Win 3.8C (because that's the most updated version I can download that I can crack). I tried burning my first cd today (Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise 2) with a .cue file, but when it was finished, I tested it in a regular cd player, all I got back was some high frequency hiss. Can anyone tell me what I might've done wrong? I'm a complete newbie to all of this, so I haven't got a clue what I'm doing wrong yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well, first i gotta agree with you the subject. CDRW does suck :) I'm a newbie too (got my burner just week or two ago) but, i haven't had a single prob recording (or reading) any of 30-40 CDRs i have already burned... probably coz i use the right one - Nero's Burning Rom ;) And for burning from cue sheets, i got fireburner. And it worked just as good as the nero prog - no problems _at all_  Both are easy to use and both had a easy to find cracks... so i can really recommend those two for your burning needs :D
http://www.ahead.de - nero's home.
http://www.fireburner.com - get fireburner here.
And for cracks it's astalavista, ofcourse. |

| I had the exact thing happen to me the first time I tried to burn with a cracked CDRWIN also. Apparently some of the cracks will appear to work and unlock all the features, but no matter what you burn it will only make you frisbees and coasters after being cracked. So I reinstalled it and burnt a disc with a cue file at x1 speed, and it worked fine(although it took forever). So you might be stuck at x1 speed unless you can find a crack that *actually* works. Or you could just buy the program :) |

Fireburner's good......... FOR ME TO TAKE A POOP ON!!!
I tried out fireburner also, and I got the same result with it as I got with CDR-Win... high-frequency hiss... high enough to send Mariah Carey's dogs into epileptic seizures. I don't know what seems to be the problem with me and .cue files... they just don't seem to work with me. Oh well... I guess it's back to recording with my Sharp MD-MS702 minidisc player/recorder again. That little thing puts out the sweetest bass I tellz ya... stronger than any discman I've ever owned. It's a sweet thing, and it's probably more versatile (for mp3 audio) than cds actually are. Anyways, I'm going cold-turkey on CDR-Win and Fireburner until someone can show me how to properly burn an audio cd with a .cue file without making another coaster.
Thanks for the input people.

The problem that you guys are having with CDR-Win sound like a problem with the crack you used and not the program itself. I've been using CDRWin for a while and found it to be very good. It's interface may be a bit sparse works once you figure it out. The CUE sheets also give you a way to split up long tracks as well as share the trackdata.

| I use Adaptec Easy CD Creator and it's all good :) It's really easy to create your own trance compilations since you can drag & drop mp3-files to the cd layout and just press one button. :) Recommended! |

Easy CD Creator is the same program I use. It never fails, it's so easy to use, I've made about 10 trance cd's for me and a friend.

Hi,
I'm having some problems with Easy CD Creator 4. When I try to make an audio-cd it works perfect till 99%, but when it is trying to close the cd something goes wrong (luckely I've always used "test first"). Is this because I use 80 min cdz?
Please help.

I use Nero,Easy Cd and cdrwin depending on what i'm doing..
I find nero works really good for making audio cd's where you pick the tracks..
i use easy cd creator for copying cd's..and making data cd's.
I use Cdrwin for for live sets with cuesheets...as for the problem with the hissing... i had the same problem when i had a live set in .wav format...major hissing..but when i use the cue sheet from an mp3 format file, it turns out perfectly fine. Not sure what could cause the problem for you.. possibly could be the bad crack like some1 mentioned above.
CDRWIN is really easy to use and really good i think..

One big thing I should mention is that I never cracked my CDR-Win... I unlocked it using "legal" serial number generated by a key gen. Sooooooo... if I didn't crack it, and it's still giving me problems like this..... what's the hell's going on then?

I'm not sure what's wrong then... did u have it in wav format?? cuz i know the quality turns out bad when u do that sometimes...I'm thinking you prolly had the set in mp3 format..so i'm not really sure... try another file see if it happens again i guess (i know it'll waste another cd but we don't know if it's just that set...)
dunno bro...sorry. |

Nope! I didn't convert anything... I kept everything in mp3 format and everything still messed up, even when I tried burning Mauro Picotto live at Rosenmontag Rave without using a .cue file. That's it! I'm quitting CDR-Win. I'll have to settle for my mediocore, but reliable HP MyCD program. It does Playstation games, so I'm happy with it. CDR-Win can suck my ass.
