| THere are standards as to what can and cannot be categorized as organic. Most of the times tho its hella overpriced almost like putting a Gucci label on a pair of jeans. Where I live you get ragged on for not buying local, or organic. Or being vegan, I choose to give them a big Texan Middle finger. If I had to choose i'd def. go organic but I don't have that much money. Organic does taste better in certain foods others it doesn't make a of difference. Eggs is one, crack it open and you'll see an almost orange yolk I think it has a healthier higher fat content. Bellpeppers and other vegi's tastes the same as non organic. Milk there is a huge difference. Beer there's a diff. but I don't think its due to the grains, rather the fact that the if the masterbrewer put that much care into selecting organic grains he would prolly take equal care into brewing his beer. This translates to a lot of organic foods, not raw ingredients. Orga. cookies are dank , Organic Weed is awesome, Organic usually means more loves been put into the product. |

| It's more expensive, but pesticide free fruits and vegetables are definitely the way to go... After reading "Fast Food Nation" and seeing what goes into certain foodstuffs I try to get as much organic/all natural food as I can... |

Thanks for noting the title. I just read many reviews on Amazon.com about this book, Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal and am now thinking about buying both the Hardback version and the CD (when it's released on 2004-05-04) version. I'll definitely reccomend it to everyone I know after reading it in full. Thanks! |

i was reading the thread and only from your post i've understood what this organic thing is... now believe me or not, but here where i live, free-pesticide vegies and fruits are cheaper than those big and good looking +pesticide+ ones... for eg apples [nice, sweet etc] cost aprox 1.5-2€, then 'organic' ones 0.5€, the same with everything...
and another thing... i don't think there are any "fast food" things left in Lithuania... the only one is McDonald's (3 in all LTU) with aprox 27million € loss every year [they promissed to shut all 3 of them down next year, as the government put +1/3 (33% higher)taxes]...
so i guess i have my healthy nutrition as far... |

it's kinnda clean... the biggest city is the capital [where i live] Vilnius has 750 000 residents (less than a million)... so it's not quite possible to create a smog [or smth like that] with the cars and factories we have...
move to LTU butterfly, i'll show you around;) |

There is virtually no evidence of a causal link between "organic" foods and better health. As far as I can see, it's really just a scam. But hey, it's your money - knock yourself out.

| I don't like to eat anything that hasn't been genetically modified. Something cools got to happen to me eventually ... hopefully I won't get sissy powers like jubilee. |
