It's just ignorance and a sense of false competition. If you don't *understand* the music, you can't appreciate it. For the people that don't like rap and insult it, it's ignorance. As for the people that insult electronica or any genre. I used to listen to rap ALOT and many other genres, and I can understand why people enjoy that music. And I will never say "Rap sucks," that goes for any style of music... it's not that it SUCKS, it's just that you have not taken the time to really listen and understand the music. If you did, you would find a reason why it is enjoyed by other people, that's guaranteed almost. If they say it sucks, it's probably because they do not understand it. And to the person that says "Trance/Techno SUCKS" it's the ignorant way of saying "I don't know that music." So you already know off the bat the type of idiot you're dealing with. So them.
The topic here was someone saying that TECHNO SUCKED, not which style of music was simpler. On that note, I do find rap to be one of the simpler styles of music, production wise.
Country sucks though, for real. :crazy: |

My roommates tell me that all the time and specially when the hell the song is gonna end and why they're 40minutes long (when I'm listening to live sets).
I just tell them: And you seriously think Hip-Hop is more music then techno? Heh, they shut up right away.
One of the biggest "techno" haters, one of my roommates of last year came clubbing with me like a month ago and is starting to like EDM, lol, he asked me for Hardcore Turbulence Vol. 3 today, not what I like, but hey, at least he's not listening to Hip-Hop :p |
