Well it rocked so much that lots of games copied the system if you noticed.. i.e. Warcraft 3 (The undead have to buuild on blight just like the Zergs, and they use towers like to feed the troops and defend the base, like the Protoss..), and more recently War Of The ring...

I still play starcraft, but this is largely due to my lack of computing power

WarCraft and StarCraft are made by the same company (Blizzard) as is the Diablo Series.. so of course there is going to be some over-lapping.

Starcraft served as a paradigm in the dark days of RTS... With it's relative lack of engine driven sophistication, but very flexible worldeditor it managed to mangle everything out on the market for a very long time. Those crap ass C&C games could never compare. The new paradigm is warcraft III though, in fact, other companies are already attempting to clone it. Warcraft III is different, but superior, to Starcraft, although Starcraft was *way* ahead of it's time (3 balanced races...).
DjChook
Starcraft and especially brood war (taking the "transparent" one step forward) were the best RTS games ever...

(even overcome warcraft III and the first Red Alert)

But now i play the 1.13 of frozen throne and happy about it...
Got sick of Broodwar somewhere last year (yep, played it for so long)

Sick of Starcraft!? Warcraft III was fun for about a week, then I beat the game and havn't played it since but have been playing Starcraft (Brood Wars) since it came out in 99' I believe - I play both online and offline and love every minute of it, last game I played was about 5 days ago

I used to play alot of sc, my fav was 3v3 shared bases, but now I much prefer wc3 to it, I like the smaller army sizes and how the heros affect/change the game
PHALPAX
My b-net sn: PHALFAX....its a "FAX" instead of a "PAX"!!

hmmm Seriously i hate starcraft or any kind of stradegy game.. I'm only into Action RPG (not kiddie stuff like RO)and First Person Shooter game

But....yea theres a but i will definatly buy Starcraft Ghost coming out in early 2004. Woohoo i can't wait till i get my hands on that game

You must not be a computer gamer then - I assume you play XBOX or PS2 instead. I feel that Blizzard's choice to make StarCraft ghost a platform game (PS2, XBox, GameCube) was a poor one becuase of the fact that 75% of their fan-base is in computer gamers with the output of numers #1 games (Diablo, WarCraft II, WarCraft III, StarCraft)

I believe, the only game they have come out with for platform systems before StarCraft ghost was the Lost Vikings series.
