i really think the matrix thread should be pinned as it aint on page 1 or 2, anyway i read the official matrix revolutions thread , and a lot of ppl where dissapointed with the ending, well after reading this i thought wtf no way, I don't want to spoil it for anyone who aint seen it, so don't read on, LOOK AWAY NOW,

I thought that the ending was the best way to end the matrix it had to happen with a ' truce between machines and humans , of course neo is the only one who can defeat smith ' the virus ' infected on the matrix as smith and neo are both computer programs with the same powers more or less, the ending explains all the answers and mayne you are not seeing past the cgi effects and all the other fighting scenes, at the end of MR , neo fights smith for one last time, it is a pointless fight because neo can not win , as smith is a virus infected on the matrix which controls neo when smith trys to duplicate him self with neo it does not work as neo is plugged in the machine which is controlled by the main computer brain, i.e the virus can be found now,
without the machines the virus cannot infect anything so creating a truce between machines and humans will eradicate the smith virus, the virus wont even exist, thats why we see smith explode as his purpose to spread is pointless. It appears that oracle is a program created by the archichect to balance the equation of good and evil / machine and human. the film was kept to a non fiction story line, there was no way neo could defeat the machine world , as he said there was to many of them when he was travelling to the machine world with trinity, Neo is blinded by the EMP Gun by Bane, but he can see the power energy source of the machine & smith remember smith has infected the power source so he is able to see him aswell , remember smith has transformed himself into bane & the oracle, the last battle for zion was fantastic action scenes probabily one of the best battle scenes in a movie since LOTR 2 the battle for helms deep. The love between Trinity and Neo had to end aswell , Neo was not human but Trinity was , uncomplicate things trinity , morpheus and the rest of zion civilians are the free'd mines of the matrix world and are living in the cave underground, neo was created to even things out all along. anyone calling this film rubbish must have some serious mental issues, what were u expecting a EMP big enough to wipe out the world and neo and trinity walk into the sunset, lol asif.

*Spoiler Alert* :)

I have never complained about the plot, i too think there was no way, certainly from when the second movie finished, that they were ever going to defeat the Machines.

However, that is, and i suspect this is what most people think, not the problem. Indeed the cgi was not a problem in itself either. The problem arises from the utter lack of quality cinematography. The fight between Smith and Neo had nothing of the epic of say the final fight between Maximus and Commodus in Gladiator. The 'last stand' scene had nothing of the emotion of despair and hopelessness (despite the factbthe situation itself was hopeless) that the battle of Helms deep had. The film as a whole had nothing to match the imagery or backdrops as say the dual between Vader anf Luck in the empire strikes back. It just generally lacked in good old fashioned quality film direction.

To be honest i don't think it could have ever matched the quality of the first, mainly becaus ethe first, while offering scopofilia ('eye candy') in surplas it also had emotion (i'm not talking about trinity and neo either, but general engagement of the viewer) and a sense of real struggle. The later two just felt like a pointless and totally useless string of fights ending in stalemate. I will also like to say i am not one of those people who will always say that the first in a series is always the best just for the sake of it, but it is the shameful situation hollywood is in that all they can reel off in terms of sequels is inferior versions of the original.

A few good points there , as a trilogy it is tough to make a final battle, single films like gladiator, braveheart , which are 110 mins of filmage are straight forward to create a great and simple ending, with the MATRIX, its is far to complex to create a great ending , as the end of the film was written before even filming, neo could of fought for 30 mins , and ppl would of got bored of seeing both of them totaly killing each other and no one would die which would piss ppl off, u see these films where someone comes back alive once being killed and its really boring now in films, id rather see 30 mins of the zion battle than 30 mins of 2 ppl fighting.
