Unfortunately, in our beautiful city, the conventional wisdom seems to be that if you work at a hot club, you need to have a nasty attitude. (there are exceptions, of course) I dont understand why this exists, but it really irks me. i could never work in such a fun environment and treat people do rudely...
So, is there anyone that stands out in your mind---whether it be bouncer, owner, bartender, whoever---that is consistently rude and obnoxious?
My vote:
THAT COATCHECK GUY AT ARC.
What the hell crawled up his ass and keeps dying? anyone feel this??

the coat check guy at arc helped me sneak my camera in :nervous:
he told me who to look out for and when to take my camera out of my bag and start taking pictures
maybe it was a diff guy? |

omg..
i have MAD beef with these 2 bouncers.. every time i see them, i put evil curses on them..
first one was @ roxy for the first time armin came around.. i was holding a sign up for armin to see behind the barricade (well, there was no actual barrier, just the platform that we were not allowed to step down from) and i fell down from the platform into the 'unmarked, forbidden' territory ( :rolleyes: ) and this bouncer GRABBED me by my waist and SHOVED me back into the crowd- i fell backwards. ING . i'm a blonde chick with a huge smile on my face, do i look like i'm gonna kill armin?? maybe with kindnes.. :rolleyes: god, i hated him for that.
second one was after PvD@roxy in february-- first of all, when paul went to the bathroom, the bouncers were protecting him and they pushed some guy SO HARD that he fell over a table/platform.. paul helped him back up.. (how nice..) and then, at the end of the night
this one bouncer was CURSING at all the people behind the barricade who were handing paul posters to get signed.. meanwhile he's yelling/cursing at us to get the out cuz he wants to go home and making people fall down cuz he kept pushing his foot again the barricade, he was making his job last longer cuz he gave us a harder time getting the posters sign since we had to reach further and push harder.. ING IDIOT!!!!!
yo, if i was paul, i would say "hey s, stfu, they're my fans, why don't you be nice?" but paul is so silent :( |

YEAH DANI! i know who that bouncer is from your second bad experience. he pushed me too and i yelled back at him saying don't you dare lay your hands at me you freak! and he was all yelling at my , spittin like an idiot....:rolleyes: anyways, that february event was such a bad experience club employee wise at the roxy...for some strange reason, all the bouncers were not the same that night..they were all s. i wonder where they came from :rolleyes: also, i heard from my friend that promotes for the roxy that paul was really upset with the way they treated his fans that he specifically told management to change the rules and bouncers...i noticed that the change when april came...everyone was super nice all of a sudden, the line getting in was much quicker ....lol the power of mr. van dyk hehe
another bad experience was last friday, when some bouncer yelled at me and alex outside in the smoking area. we were at the end of the steps and apparently he said something to get off it...d00d i didn't hear him so he yelled back with a nasty attitude. so of course, being the crazy biatch that i'am , lol i screamed back at him...i told him not to talk to me that way, i paid money to get in here not to get yelled at...i told him to relax...and be nice..lol i shut him up i tell ya ;)
nobody yells or lays a hand on me when im in the club having fun..its all a power trip anyways...:rolleyes: :o :rolleyes: |

| The bouncers outside of Roxy are definitely the bitchiest around. There is one inparticular that my friends and I have deemed "the bitchy roxy bouncer." We have also run into him @ Exit and Bowery Bar. "Son do you have anything else..." Sorry Dad I left my OTHER fake id in another set of pants, jerk. |

I cant believe there are people who have had good experiences with the coat check guy!1! he is infamous for being a nut in ym group of friends. He is always strikingly mean to us---it's pretty absurd. he is a bitch in my book.
Avalon has THE GREATEST people working there ever. They are so nice, friendly, cool, gregarious, the whole lot. i plant o highlight this in my nick warren review of last saturday. i'll post a link when it's done. cooljunkie.com. This is Evo, btw. I think I might know quite a few people on this forum?
Tek I saw you at centro cuz im friends with Victor who was also spinning with you that nite! i did an interview with vic last summer, (and tiesto too, i think some of you may have seen that?)
anyway, that was a bit of a tangent.

| wow, sounds like you have some ty people working at the clubs in NYC...i've never encountered any bitchy or just plain mean people at clubs in Canada, everybody up here is courteous and respectful, they don't yell at you for nothing, they're not even that mean if they're throwing you out... |

of all the times i've closed out a show, i can remember the bouncers saying something to the general effect of "time to go home, get the out..."
the one exception i can think of was at armin at arc last month. there wasnt any yelling at those of us that were left. pretty much the only thing i heard was "ok, people, you know were open on friday, you can come back then"
