I know, i shouldn't be whinning because Toronto has delivered on most of the top talent in that last few months. But even though i got my fill of PVD, Hybrid, Sasha and Deep Dish's grooves and this month brings the long waited debut of the breaks don Adam Freeland. I can't help but put it out my wish list of dj's i would love to spin in toronto.
1. Moshic and Zidan
- Can't say enough about Moshic...love the productions, love the dj sets. The staple of dark progressive house tracks laced with tek- house stabs and haunting vocals are a perfect combo primed to destroy dance floors like System Soundbar.
2. Lemon 8
- How is it that he hasn't come to Toronto ? Anyone who has heard his remixes or tracks will testify that Lemon 8 is a very talented producer. No cheese here, the Lemon carries only progressive gems, which are delivered in a polished form by a man at the very top of his game.
3. Hernan Catteneo
-Never made it to his last date in Toronto, and that was a real shame for Oakies South American protege. Oakie haters, don't associate the two. Oakenfold may have dropped off in the last few years (although he's still great in my book for Transport and his sublim Gos Silver Mix). A solid DJ with great selection of tracks, Hernan is one of the few men who can build a set around tracks you have never heard, and still have you bouncing up and down.
4. Phil K
-Lots of intereting things happening in Australia, and 2003 seems to be the year many of Aussie lands have broken through. With the brigade of hot young producers like Luke Chable and Nu Breed comes Phil K who in my opinion is one of the most versitle dj's around. Be it breaks, or prog house, Phil K's sets and mix comp have a one constant - delicous goodness :)
So that's my list...i was going to settle on just 3. But i couldn't sign off on 3 house/prog dj's....prog breaks had to be reprezented !
Who's on your list ? |

| Hernan spun one of the best sets I've ever heard at Systems.. dude.. you missed out. I agree with you about Lemon 8. Would love to see him in TO. Don't really know the others so I can't comment. And I'd like to add Kai Tracid to the list. |
