Bought a new stylus for the shure. its good, but its a very bouncy needle, like the actual needle is absorbing so much shock. Maybe i should put a nickel on the top of the headshell?

i got a set of these and i can't get them to skip. thats with 1.5 grams on the counterweight. is your deck level and how are the carts mounted in the headshell?

the tonearm height is at 2. The carts are pushed to the back of the headshell, and i got 3g on the counterweight. Please instruct me as to how to make it not skip

you want the cart pushed to the front end of the headshell. if you want the most skip resistance then push it all the way to the front but it will wear your records faster. if you want a balance of sound quality and skip resistance then push it 3/4 of the way to the front. with your techs they have included and white little plastic calibration tool that will allow you to set your cart in the headshell to technics standards. cheers.
