Sorry, but this is not showing them:( , I keep hearing every now and then that Technics are getting rid of the MK2s and there other decks for a new line of decks, doesn't anybody know if this is true?, or have any info on them?, and if they do bring out some new type of deck, and do you think that it will take its place as the new standard in clubs?, IF they are bringing out a new line of decks, I don't think it will take over, but you never know, but I think that maybe this so called new line is just the MK5 and M5G, which to me are no big deal, but please post if you have ANY info, even if there rumors, but please say so if they are, if Technics are bringing out a new line, then all DJs should know about this, so lets start right here, right now. |

The Technics 1200 MK5 have been out for quite a while. These were supposed to replace the M3D's. They still make the MK2's. The 1200 Grandmastere M5G is the top of the line for Technics. However, you'll still find alot of ppl using mk2's cuz they are cheaper and get the job done. Check out www.djmart.com or www.pssl.com |

the mk2s will still be produced along side the mk5s, at least for awhile yet. besides, the regular mk5s are so closely price at some places that even if they got ride of the mk2 it really wouldn't be a big deal. if was buying a set of techs now i would get the mk5s but alas i've been an mk2 owner for some time now. i see no point in upgrading. |

It would be nice if they made some decks that actually have some features and get rid of that 1970's design. this is the reason I refuse to buy technics. |

I love the design, form and function. If you need more features to be a good dj..

Well said. All the extra toys look cool, but aren’t actually needed. And all this extra “creativity” argument is rubbish. If you go into a club, nine times out of ten they have bog standard 1210’s. Plus, the more gizmos you whack in, the more chance of a technical fault. Besides, a skilled DJ with two copies of the same track can do twice as much as an average DJ with a feature packed deck.
I've got Technics M3Ds, and if you ask me they are perfection encased in a turntable! |

I've only seen the higher model Technics here on "post pics of your DJ set-up" thread.
I would have to see them in person in order to make a final decision, but not only am I extremely happy with my MK2s, I think I actually prefer the slightly more retro look to them.
Might feel differently when I eventually have to replace them, but judging by the age of Tech decks I've seen at some of the local clubs and the vinyl shop, it's probably going to be a looooooooonnng time before I have to make that type of decision. ;) |

I love my M3Ds! Love 'em! If you ask me, the 5's have to many lights on them. |

I cant believe what Im reading.. What features would a turntable need other than a solid platter and a good motor?? The Technics is the ultimate Vinyl DJ tool and there simply is no better.. Your poor taste is holding you back from enjoying the DJing experience at its best... |

I think it's arguable that there is no better (I personally prefer the TTX1s) but there's no way around the technic being a great turntable and definately one of, if not the best. |

theres nothing wrong with the MK5, I like them despite what other people think, most of the people think its overkill or too many features that you might not end up using, well that may be true in some cases but I use all of the features even though they might seem silly.
The Numark TTX1 or Stanton decks are my second choice but im just fine with the mk5s. |
