I heard some great stuff about Spectrasonics Atmosphere lately. I was wondering, is there also a demo version of this synth? I really want to try this one out before buying, because $ 399 is a hell of a lot of money...

There isn't a demo version of it as far as I know, but you might want to ask over on http://forums.soniccontrol.com/ as there are undoubtedly people there who use Atmosphere who could give you some direct feedback. There are reviews up of Trilogy of Stylus in the reviews section as well.

Best synth I own period. I have a Virus and many others, they can't compare to Atmosphere.

Atmosphere has little secrets that not many people are willing to share, but here goes.

You can make lead sounds out of many of the pads in Atmosphere. The result is analog, not virtual analog lead sounds that are truly mindblowing. The included lead sounds are incredible and my Virus, nor my JP, nor my Ion could ever keep up with them.

Another semi-secret is that each (well, most) patches in Atmosphere are made of two layer patches. The result is that there LITERALLY hundreds of thousands of combos for leads, pads etc.

A future update will probably make the evolving pads sync with host tempo.

Atmosphere will probably be the best $300 you'll ever spend.

And did I mention the orchestral strings. Sorry, I just jizzed on myself...can't type anymore!

AWESOME!

Check out this Marteen Spurjit demo for the strings. It was done 100 percent with Atmosphere (at the bottom of the page called Distant Times). The other demos are good, but this one shines.Marteen

befor u talkin about getting it check that if u got the space for the 3 giga installing and if your computer strong enough fo handeling
this vst i'm guessing if you're using any software that support vst's
it had already taken a 1-2 gigabytes from your computer...

As a trance loving man my computer is loaded in trance music and loaded in producing softwares that takes lots of space i think even 40 giga is not enough...

Yes, I meant, roughly three hundred. I got it for, I think, it was 329.00.

My best advice to get cheap gear is to become buddies with someone at Guitar Center. I had a guy hook me up with The Grand by Steinberg for 169.00. That's about 100 quid cheaper than I have seen anywhere. Buy from the same guy everytime and your loyalty will pay you back.

this is massive! I love to have it. To be truthfully,no doubt the price is kinda steep but I personally feel its a worth of money to get it.
hey cheggy
Just bought it today. The pads are amazing. The orchestral sounds are sweet. Sooo smooth.

And the Moog pulse Bass is nice for trance basslines as well.
