winamp confusion

I just downloaded this version of winamp Winamp 5.0rc8 but when I go to winamp site, I don't see this version at all but only up to winamp 3 which I had before. So what kind of version is this Winamp 5.0rc8 ?
Mind you , it's the greatest player I've seen so far, great sound and bunch of links to all the radio stations and various music tv channels including at least 2 with only trance videos. Although It's a bit cluttered, I like it. |

| I forget what it is exactly. Its like the best features of winamp 2 combined with the best features of winamp 3, hence 2 + 3 = 5. I'm sure someone can elaborate for you. |

does it hog your memory like winamp 3 did?
i'm still yet to find a good enough reason to upgrade from 2.8x |

Well it takes considerable cpu power for sure but I am on only a 800mhz machine so take that into consideration. Still less than windows media player.

| Ive got Winamp 5.0beta2. Its a nice bit of work :). It takes up less processor power than winamp3. Cant wait till it comes out properly |

You should always download the .nfo with the files.
but usually when people put these out online it is before an official release by the company, usually a ripped beta version, this is just a copy of the latest update of the beta, so feel l33t in knowing you are using a winamp that is not out yet. |

I've been using it for a bit, its way better than winamp 3. And i think i'll be using it instead of winamp 2 now. |
