I need to transport my 2 TT's and mixer back to college so I can make use of them. Anyone have experience transporting them on a plane? How should I carry my mixer?? Also, with heightened airport security these days, do they search your TT carrying cases. I was thinkin to avoid trouble that i should check them in, but i run the risk of getting them stolen

I think you'd have to check them in. I think the best way to do it would be to have them shipped to you via fedex, ups or whatever, just make sure they are insured ;)..

Paying a little Cash > Risk of loosing my tables :D.

cheaper than repairs and/or buying a new turntable.

only experience i have had was with my friends guitar. he got it back and his case was flattened. and they only payed about 60% of the total value becuse it was "used"

if you ship, make sure you get the shipping company to pack it for you so you arent liable for damages and they cant use the "bad packaging" excuse. and dont use UPS becuase they dropped it off a plane with not parachute, ran over it a few times while retreiving it in the desert and then kicked it a few miles all the way to my door. and refused to pay for the damages.
