The artists aforementioned (LTJ, Photek) really aren't considered 'hardcore' Drum and Bass to that crowd (FYI), the new 'thing' is Hardware label artists, such as Usual Suspects, Absolute Zero, and the Armageddon CD compilations. Dieselboy is popular stuff as well.

There is a whole sub-division of Drum and Bass that enjoys a newer-style (that I don't really care for), I'm sure you've heard it, where the 'rapper' raps over the spinning, much like how AK1200 pioneered. The only problem is you have these guys yelling over the music the entire time, freestyling, and its horrible! Everyone has their own tastes, and Ckerr812 is correct, that Drum and Bass just sounds like sped-up hip-hop. Good day.**

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^awwwww nooooooooo........switched over cause the market was bigger......aawwww noooooooo.......you can tell sphinx is a TA in training..........aaaaah man that just made my day a ty one.....I'm not gonna have a good sleep tonight

anyway............I totally agree wit that MC'n freestylin bull
I think it ruins the music......I like good dark drum n bass
but I don't think I could go to a dnb party and stay all night

"Ckerr812 is correct, that Drum and Bass just sounds like sped-up hip-hop"

i disagree, i think its just sped up breaks... if you play a 45 at 33, then that's exactly what you get

not in my opinion, hiphop....
i havent heard any of that rapper stuff over d&b tho

and yea i like that dark stuff
and also trippy stuff which is ing hard to beatmix

and vocals and strings and pianos (probably d&b cheese?) :D

**Oh I miscommunicated myself I'm sorry. I did not switch for money, I liked Trance before, but I happened to be in Drum and Bass. I think I mentioned before that Drum and Bass was popular over here. The club changed format, however, so I too had to change. It was for the better, however, because I did not like the direction Drum and Bass was going.
I agree with you, KevinExcite, the dark Drum and Bass is great. The evil sounds really do damage on the floor.**

I enjoy a little DnB altho I'm not a big fan of the genre in general...

You know what I think I might really enjoy, if anyone would have the guts to make it... TRANCEY DRUM AND BASS, and I don't mean just atmospheric. I mean REALLY trancey. But since DnB is like the ANTI-TRANCE genre that seems unlikely for any DnB producers to do, altho Breaks has already gone trancey (like Hybrid), so maybe Trancey Jungle/DnB is next logical evolution.

If there already is some GOOD Trancey DnB, I'd love to heard about it.

I highly recommend the J Majik drum and bass remix of Hatiras - Spaced Invader. It's the tranciest DnB that I've ever heard. The original track is a trancey House track.

Hatiras - Spaced Invader (J Majik remix)
download it from www.audiogalaxy.com or wherever you get your goods.
