Hi,
I am about to purchase a used set of DJ Equipment which includes a Gemini BPM-1000 and 2 Gemini CDJ-1100's. But before i buy the equipment, i would like to know if i should look out for any problems or troubles with the stuff.
Does anyone also know if the CDJ-1100's are antishock (how many seconds?) and have the % of pitch control displayed in the LED screen?
Thanks in advance and please reply if you have any answers! :D |

I have BPM1000. Its a nice mixer, but a word of caution. First if you ever start using turntables dont jack into the 1st input port use the 2nd and 3rd. The first is a bit fuzzy with phono. Also just as an opinion, put something over the BPM read out. You dont want to start reying on those magic numbers now do you?

here's a big word of advice, do yourself a favor and get the pioneer cdj100. The are about the same price as that gemini your buying and 100 times more reliable.
and if you ever decide to sell it, you'll have plenty of buyers for your pioneer cdj100, BUT NOBODY will want your gemini cd player.
get the drift? |

thanks for the help metabeing..:)
but plugging them in 3 & 4 would be even better right? (less used channels)
DjVersus- the CDJ-100's would definately be on my list for buying if i had the $$$... they are about US$100 more than the Gemini CDJ-1100's used..
So unfortunatley i will have to stick with the CDJ-1100's..:( :)
Does anyone know though, if the CDJ-1100's have anti-shock?
thanks!:D |

Your right, 3 and 4 would be less used, but line 4 doenst take a phono plug in so records cant go through that one.
Also depending on how you drop in your cued up track you may want to use 2 and 3. If you use the cross fader i would go with 2 and 3 because then the fader is centered, a little bit of visual help. But if you fade by using the input volumes 3 and 4 would be your best bet. I would be careful those because number 4 can be two different lines or a mic so you may come across some fuzz there too.
All in all thought do what you like and comfortable with.
