:toocool: Well it all started when I was 13 years old (1999) and I was a big listener to Rock, such as Van Halen & other classics. But it started to change when I heard a Dumonde song I accidentally downloaded which is 'Never look back' unfortunately it didn't bring me into trance.(I didn't know what Trance was then)
:o However thanks to me playing Homeworld and hearing Barber's Adagio for strings (Which I did not know the name then)
and soon after hearing the Remix when I went Bowling for a friends Birthday, Saw a video something with a Tree, sky is moving thats all I remember of the video clip & words in print saying 'Barber's Adagio for stings' with the music going and the rest I did not get to see in time.......
That same day I went on the Homeworld Forums and looked up the "Homeworld Theme" I found it and read the messages talking about some 'Techno remix' of Barber's Adagio for strings.
SO I looked up on the net for it, then tryed a program called
Limewire put down Barbers Adagio for strings techno remix, after a few days of downloading some classical versons, I finally found it which is Ferry Corsten Remix of Barber's.
I still love it today!
Thanks to that its got me here in 2003 listening to what I consider great, Trance!
:o And that is how I got interested.
What about you guys? |

| back in 2001 i was a metal head, so i hated pretty much everything electronic. anyway, we had laptops at our school and there was this guy that was a huge trance fan. so he played a few songs, i know they sounded good, but i didnt want to admit i liked it. anyway a couple of months down the track and after hearing a few more tracks, i saw an add on TV promoting the new Hard NRG cd (vol2, dont laugh plz lol). it sounded awesome to me. the next day i went out and bought it, i loved it so much. so yeah ive been addicted to trance since that day : ) |

| I was always into early dance music such as the Real Mcoy and other groups (I hate to admitt it, but yes I was). Slowly but surely my taste started to develop and began to get into alot of electronic music namely The Chemical Brothers. After that I began to listen to a couple of ministry of sound cds, including Trance nations 2 and 3 and clubbers guide to trance. Havn't looked back since, however starting to appreciate other forms and styles through the likes of Sasha and James Holden. |

I was always in to Jazz when I was young.
Late at night on a local radio station RTR I found this wicked show called 'Black & Blue' which played all this wicked acid jazz & trip hop stuff, mainly stuff coming of Compost Records and the like. I really liked what I was hearing, so in an effort to get more of an idea I'd listen to Groove Train on Triple J and stuff.
This made me go all commercial, hearing cheezey housey songs and all. Then one night I heard Hybrid - Symphony on Groove Train. This is probably the most influential tune for me because of its strong classical influence. Because I was really digging the acid jazz electronic stuff, the idea of classically inspired electronica really appealed to me. From then on I became a huge Hybrid fiend.
The natural progression was finding other Hybrid tracks, which led me to your trance compilations that all had Finished Symphony on it. So that was when I entered the trance phaze. Which then led me to Bedrock - Heaven Scent.
(This is around year 11 by this stage). Dance Arena's had only just started popping up in Perth. So to find out more about Heaven Scent I went in there, and Dazz K told me to check out Digweed Hong Kong. From then on its been a match made in heaven :)
