| I got this question off of the BBC and found it a very interesting one indeed. With 25 different nations, who envisions an agreement where the E.U. can ratify a constitution that covers so many divergent interests, especially from the larger nations - France, Germany, U.K, Poland, Spain. Someone will have to give up something that is important to them nationally be it defence, social services, etc, all outline by the policies of the constitution, I am about halfway through reading the document and it seems very idealistic in the various areas when you consider the different cultures and languages that have to be brought together, but only time will tell the E.U. constitution's impact and influence should it be ratified eventually. |
