Okay kiddies, time to dig in your vinyl collections to find this vinyl from, all the way back, 2002. The one that I'm talking about has the Mark Lawrence (JX4), Big Al, and S.H.O.K.K. mixes on it. A little while ago, I decided to sort through my vinyl collection and try and make an old mix (with vinyls that I started DJing with... but never got the chance to perfect into a mix). I came upon this great song and decided to mix it in. Obviously, I chose the Big Al Remix (As it's my favorite... and I'm sure a lot of your's as well). So I turn over the vinyl to side AA. I look at the RPM, and it says 45. So I place the vinyl down on the platter of my right turntable and press the 45RPM button. Once I got the arm on the vinyl, I pressed the start button on the turntable only to hear a very, VERY sped up version of Icarus. So I use 33 1/3RPM instead. Sounds PERFECT. But wait... "this is how it's supposed to be" is what I thought to myself. So...
Was this a typo on Negativa's part? Does anyone else have this written on their vinyl?
Just wondering... Hahah... |

yeah, happens all the time, records get mislabeled...just got to listen to the vinyls first before you try to mix with them :p
btw, i had that vinyl, i sold it to a friend of mine in exchange for the Dark Blue series featuring the original mix of Icarus...I think the Big Al remix sucks, the vocals totally ruin it. But the SHOKK mix is ownage, I'm sorry I sold it :( |

| This happens ALL the time (maybe not all, but way more often then it should). The 45 / 33 mix up is probably the most common but often there are errors in labeling the side, like "This Side" is supposed to have mix A on it but it has mix B and mix A is on the flip side. I am suprised this is the first time you have noticed this :) When it comes to speeds, I don't even look at the record, I just through it on and fix it if it is off (sometimes I just know that certain records are 45 or 33 but not most of them). |

Was even more common when Vinyl was part of the mainstream industry.
Rumour has it that there was a missprint of Europe's - The Final Countdown that was so bad they had to recal the whole first pressing.
Something along the lines of not enough 'O's in Countdown.. you do the maths ;)
Cheers

Yeah gotta love typos like that.
I have it. Two copies actually. lol
I actually like the S.H.O.K.K. remix better but then again I like it harder. hehe |
