I just got some new headphones so I can produce in peace, but I got some problems.

Headphones: Pioneer HDJ-1000's
Soundcard: Videologic SonicXplosion

Problem:

Headphones straight into soundcard just isnt loud enough, even when i max every volume setting.

Headphones in my mixer, Pioneer DJM 300, works fine volume wise.

but...

When I hook my pc up to my mixer, and my mixer then up to my amp, I get this weird loud buzzing interference.

Pc straight to amp has no buzz.
Other input (discman) to mixer has no buzz.
Pc to mixer has buzz.

Why?

please help :(
hey cheggy
You won't get much plugging your headphones into your sound card cos you need a headphone preamp (like on your mixer).

Have you plugged the sound card into the line in or the phono input in your mixer. If its in the phono input, then this could be the cause of the humming.

"Phono/Line Switchable Inputs:
Using the rear-mounted switches, the rear PHONO inputs can be used as line-inputs to allow the connection of a number of sound-source combinations. In short, the DJM-300 allows even DJs who don't use an analog turntable to make flexible use of four separate sound source inputs."

Tried flickin' those switches to set them as line-inputs rather than phono inputs?

Hmmzzzz, but you said Discman to mixer has no buzz??? This is very wierd. Could be a ground loop problem.
