This is gonna be very difficult to ID cos it's offbeat. I really like it though. I think your best chance is to get someone to ID the vocals and do a search on the internet. Since it's not in English, and it's sung in opera style, even this isn't going to be easy. |

Right, this sample seems to be not available for download anymore, but I had it on my hard drive because I wanted it ID'd. I've found out the name of the song...Its called 'Maximising the Audience' and its by Wim Mertens, he's a experimental minimalist classical composer, in the style of Philip Glass. |

15 years after you posted the request, I've finally found the song.
The original sample is no longer available but I saved it to my hard drive hoping to find it in the future.
And here's the full track on YouTube.

The original sample posted was from 2:15 to about 4:15. The track is a mashup between a minimalist modern classical piece of music by Wim Mertens (Maximizing the audience), and a house track from 1988 by Layizon (The Ride Inside). |

Wim Mertens - great composer/producer/musician.
I found him after Minimalistix (Belgian as well) reworked a couple of his tunes, viz., Close Cover and Struggle for Pleasure, around 2000.
Awesome tunes and lots of good remixes as well. |
