haha no really :P, when im listerning to trance or any electronic music (trance more so) i tend to have reaccuring thoughts which emphisise that what im thinking must be somewhat accurate so i thought id share... maybe you guys do too?
ok firt off thiws is pretty self explanitory and im sure your all like err duh, but dont you feel all trance grows on you and its kinda like a cycle you see you know if you let a song play through 3 or 4 times it WILL grow on you (especially if its reccommended by someone, in which the case it most probably already has grown on them!) but (and even i a huuuuggeeeeee trance adddict) sometimes dont allow yourself to do this and we judge a song by fast forwarding to the chorus and dont really give the song a oppourtunity to unfold itself... but back to the first point if we do we know we will get that insane high (natural :P) that can only be attributed to music yet we still choose to ignore it and want an instant gratification... which is why you get people praising songs such as 'sandstorm' or 9pm because despite the fact they are catchy they are overplayed and people now recognise it and do get some incling of the feeling this kind of music gives you but ONLY because its been hammered im sure theres alot of good material out there that people cant be arsed appreciating/hearing properly
OK, THAT SAID, on the other hand however dont you guys reckon when you hear a really good song i mean like 'wow' you know straight away i find this with myself ALL the time its like when you hear a song the first time you try to be appreciateive and give a honest opinion but then once in a while, now and then youl have like this killer song and you just _know_ that your gonna love this song (maybe sooner than other ones) and everytime you do, its just liek something insid eyou wakes up and goes YEH!
so yeh theres my 2c :P feel free to comment! |

I feel trance like a sunset. I mean, I have a strange emotion when I encounter one of them. Both together...would just kill me!
Trance.
Yeah, this is a lil' bit 4 philosophy. I mean, if U really understand this music, U must be a little philosopher Ur self. Expressing your emotions is natural, as the model of the artist that made trance. Because trance is a way to express Ur self. Either the type of trance U listen, or Ur fav trak, it just reveals U. So be careful what U listen to! |

Yeah, I agree with some of the stuff you said there.
Like for instance, you usually have to listen to a song all the way through a few times before you can properly judge whether you like it or not.
But at the same time, there are those special tracks that leave a permanent impact on you the first time you hear it - but these are few and far between.
I was originally going to have a point to this post but then I lost it. But then I am sick. So there you go. |

| For me, I usually know right off if I like a track or not (perhaps I should go back and give the ones I dont a couple more listens). What hooks me on trance are all the buildups and breakdowns. But I typically like just about every trance tune I hear at a club. Perhaps this is b/c the DJ's only spin good tracks but more likely it has to do with the volume and sound quality in the clubs. When you just lose yourself in the song and let it take you over, a good one will take you on an emotional rollercoaster that no drugs can compare to. Also, the lead-ins and outs to a tune can either make it or break it. I enjoy just about any song more when it is mixed with one before and after it rather than just the track. |

Hmmz..
I have to say, the biggest impact for me came with Forbidden Paradise 6 - Valley of Fire by Tiesto. The cd managed to create an atmosphere for me which kind of felt like a higher state of conciousness.
But beyond that, when I listen to it, it relaxes me and allows me to get into emotional things that are pretty dificult otherwise.
Most songs are just songs, and then there are those few which are very special. Usually after listening to it a few times, the melody gets into me and I appreciate it better. :)
Trance in general usually makes my mood better.. :D :D |

yeah this is true, there are a few tunes that when u download and listen to them for the first time they sound really cheezy and a bit poo... but when they get played in a club where the accioustics and sound system are altered to make as close to perfect sound as possible it sounds in wicked... prime examples: pollon - lonely planet, members of mayday - 10 in 01, mauro picotto - like this like that (original mix)

so can u imagine the feeling you get when u r on a roll and then u go on that emotional rollercoaster? thats why people take drugs at clubs :toothless
i can usually say whether i like a track as soon as i hear it all the way thru, i think its really annoyin when im tryin to listen to a tune round at someone elses house or sumthin and they skip it to half way thru the tune... trance takes u on a journey and if its not mixed then it makes the tune sound better if u listen to it from the start. u can hear the way the track builds itself up to the climax or breakdown or whatever and u hear the way the tracks swings between moods and emotions...
it u know what i mean :)

there have been so many times when ive bought a new cd and just skipped thru the tracks when i get home, think to myself 'this is ' and just throw it on the pile. its not til u actually listen to it properly all the way through that you will experience the 'emotion' caused by listening to it. if you skip through tracks u lose all of the 'emotion'. and yeah, it does grow on ya, every time you listen to it!

| Sometimes, the fact that U like a trak or not depends of the circumstances in which U listen to it. I like trax that remind me of something. Trax for which I have fallen in special moments. So I can associate the trak with a moment of happiness. I like it so much more! |

yea...it always takes me like a few times for me to love a cd..oakie's cd's are a prime example. at first they seem borrrrrring but after actually listining to the cd its like woah this is preety good. same with pvd's new cd "out there and back"..when i first got that cd like back when it came out (june of 2k) i was like this isn't pvd? then after quite a few listens that cd literally brings you out there and back..its prob my fav cd cuz it does bring you on a journey far far away if you just close your eyes and think for a second you get soooo many thoughts and each song on that cd has a story.
jus my lil philosophy :) |

I would have to totally agree. I also cant believe the power in which music can bring to a person... especially trance.. it just has a way of transforming everything. Its like a inner soul refresher..lol |
