Then is a change in time, space, order, etc. Also used for if/then statements. Other uses too of course but that's it in a nutshell.
Than is used in comparison or contrast.
"I walked the dog, then I fed the cat."
"If I buy the 6800GT, then I won't have money for tuition."
"I am better than you."
People messing up "to" "two" and "too" piss me off as well. Get it straight: "I want to kill those two people who mess up the "their" "there" and "they're" words too."
This is a great thread for ranting... |

| english is so complicated. i think one of the only languages that there are rules that dont make sense many times. such as "laugh" pronounced "laf". why not spell the way u say it. its also in countless other words. and silent letters. such as "take". pronounced "tayk". why not say it the way u spell it or else say it like "tay-ka". and say "laugh" like "lau-guh". |

This style of spelling (definitely) kinda reminds me of other words like immediately and continuously.
*I dont have trouble spelling definitely in the first place. Anyway, i see more ppl using 'defo' more than 'definitely' in the forums, than ppl spelling incorrectly. |
