buddy was probably high as a kite, some sort of amphetamine I would guess. He was either not looking so good, or caught buying/selling, and the bouncers decided he had to leave. They try to remove him, but he puts up a fight, and bouncer call for help to remove him.
more resistance, and well..fight of flight response, he stays, gets piled on, and then wham..his heart cant take it, they get off him, only to realize something is really wrong, and send him to the hospital, where he died of cardiac arrest
*/end of my speculation*

That's kind of what i was thinking too.
It's tragic that these kind of incidents happen but i really don't think we can blame the bouncers. I would think most "club deaths" or "accidents" are due to overuse/misuse of a drug.
I know recently here we had an incident where a kid ripped one of his eyes out because "there were rats inside his head". A lot people thought the scene would take a hit here because of that but it didn't really end up affecting it all that much. We don't even have tough security checks at the entrance of clubs, and the club itself did not close either.
Hopefully everything will be sorted out with Aria and i do hope they wouldn't close the club because of that :(

Regardless i hope his family members are okay, and wish the best to all the Aria employees and hope the repercussions aren't too serious.

RIP

yeah definitly a go, I just woke up:wtf:

I went insde at the beginning of the night totaly not in the mood. But inside one hour, people so friendly, amazing party going, acquaviva totaly crazy, i couldn't just hold myself but smile at the music and the atmosphere.

Things a bit clearer now, chatted with a buddy who works as security, he was still not feeling great (told me he had puked at the scene). The guy took too much stuff, went ape jumping on people on the dancefloor, total danger to clubgoers. Security called in to restrain him, he was in his 30s and fat, got a heart attack and died right there on the spot.

Police shut down the club at 1045 while barbara was still spinning, she was angry because she had no idea what had happened... its understandable.

I must say, that the club yesterday was more packed than the day before, total party mood, in fact at noon, when the music stopped, people didn't leave they cheered for a good 10 minutes and wanted music (was even asked to drop a couple of tunes :stongue: ) Skipper, if you think the night before was crazy, well saturday was out of this world! The 3 guest djs were just too good and demential!

Given the fact that:
- he was 30
- Montreal has a reputation for obscene drug abuse (re: Speed)
- It was a cardiac arrest
- it was techno

I highly doubt it was a security guard beat down, but rather a heart attack caused by narcotics. (probably speed or blow) In which case, the scene took a hit.

Again, RIP.

happened upstaires.
upstairs = hip hop room

Twilo was shut down after one death too.

actually, no...Sadly, there were several deaths at Twilo usually hidden in the closets or in the dumpster out back. Twilo was shut down not because of a death, but because of Guiliani
's quest to clean up NYC and to get rid of nightlife in general. His way of getting Twilo shut was to use Fire Code permit violations and it was just too much money to fix them. In that same amount of time kids have died at World Nightclub, Exit, and Soundfactory. Exit and SF were both shut down as well but only for short periods of time. The only club in NYC that was shut down due to deaths was the tunnel and that was only after probably 20 deaths there. They found a body in the dumpster next door and a girl the same week claimed she was raped in the unisex bathroom. That STILL didn't shut it down for good. Not until a federal prosecution into the owner of the club (tunnel and limelight) Peter Gatien did the clubs finally close as he was forced to sell his assests as he was indicted for drug trafficing
