Complex LFOs in Cubase SX

Quite often I'll need to create an LFO on a synth or plug-in parameter which does more than a simple sine/saw wave. This is usually stuff like increasing the frequency, changing the shape of the waveform, etc.
Although it's often possible to do this by hand, free running LFOs aren't exact enough - I'll want to slowly slide between near beat-synched and free, for example. Or always end at the top of a cycle.
Is there any feature within Cubase that will allow me to automate a parameter with a formula? Or create automation data to a formula? Or is there any other way to manipulate parameters this way?

Look at the manual of your synth/plug-in
it should have a list of control commands (cc) (including lfo shape change, lfo speed)
then just go to the automation section (dont know how to do this in cubase as i work with logic)
for having the lfo shape change at the end of the cycle i think you will have to sync it to midi to do this, if not you will never be able to know where the end of the cycle is.. I don't think there is anything between free and synced lfo.. its the one or the other
i'm not sure but I should be close |

That's what I'm doing right now...
Say I want the LFO to start at the beginning of bar 27, with a sine wave at 90 degrees. From here, I want the LFO to complete two cycles per bar for eight bars, then increase in frequency over the next four bars, reaching 100 cycles per bar at this point.
For example?
I can't tempo synch, as you pointed out, for then any increase in frequency would be harshly stepped. And leaving it free-running would put the position within the cycle at the beginning of bar 27 down to chance.
Am I just a control freak? Or is there something I can do? Some kind of formula generator, MIDI plug-in, etc?
