being played by Niklas Harding & Misja Helsloot hardly qualifies as widespread play.
Furhtermore, a song can be your own personal tune of the year based on your opinion...but for a big all-encompassing poll like this, one that is supposed to represent all of trance, you can't base it on personal opinion. One of the factors HAS to be what was consistently out there the most by the big DJs.
hell...I could say that I think The Digital Blonde - Gothica deserves Tune of the Year because I like it so much...but do I think that it should be in the running for THE Tune of Year? Hell no! why? because only J00F ever played it! |

That was merely some examples. Go search for the tunes in the tracklist forum, you'll see my point.

Who said it is supposed to represent all of trance? As far as I'm concerned, this poll is supposed to represent the tune that you consider to be the best tune that has come out this year. I haven't seen anything else in this thread that says otherwise. And if we're going by your rule, we're gonna have to omit over 50% of the tunes listed, since none of them seem to fit your definition of "widespread play"...

which once again is total rubbish. This isn't the poll of "biggest tune of 2003", it is the poll of "YOUR tune of 2003". I think you need to realize that. |

| actually, it is the "Official 2003 TA track of the year!!" thread, which signifies more than just "your" personal best song of the year. It represents the "official" track of 2003 as selected by the group of TA as a whole. |

Its the poll of TAs tune of 2003...
now whether or not it's a personal opinion or like beema said a widespread tune played by all the DJs, is up to each and every TA on the board.
Post em how you see fit |

And what do you think that the result of this poll will be derived from? That's right, personal opinion. That a track must be given a certain amount of rotation by a certain amount of big DJs in order to qualify for the poll is complete bs. That a certain amount of play from a certain amount of big DJs can influence the final result of the poll is of course another issue... |

All this bitching is insignificant anyway. As the Rush Comes will win and deserves to win. Like it or not, love it or hate it, it was THE track of 2003, and I plan on voting for it not because it was my personal favorite tune of the year, but because it actually was the biggest song of the year. People get so touchy about the smallest things. |

Personally my two choices are my own opinion..
however i understand what beema's saying.. that its all well and good to post your favorite track.. but at the end of the tallying and polling we will end up with the tracks and tunes that have been hammered by a lot of DJs this year and not by just a select few
*cough* ATRC *cough* etc..
See what I'm saying? |

yet in the meantime you'd scrap feelings and push through from the list, because YOU only heard them once on ASOT.. it's not because you only heard them once, they haven't been hammered by the big guns.
sincere too, a track that was and still is played a lot by dj's like tiesto and armin, and a track that has been very popular on these boards.
Frenzy is the national anthem of this forum, so to speak, produced by our very own Haak. a few big names have been playing it..
etc. etc.
you clearly haven't been around often here this year. |

| I like "Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (Nu-NRG Remix)" |
|
|
| djkrisso |
Armin Van Buuren feat. System F - From The Heart
Modulation - Spirits (Cosmicman Remix)
Seems like Spirits isn't very popular in my view, but I like it. Very irritatin people saying that they all sound the same, everytime one of Matti's work is mentioned.
I have to mention these two pumping tunes:
Nu NRG - Supersonik Way
Mac Zimms - L'Annonce Des Couleurs (Basic Dawn Remix/The Mystery Remix)
My nomination is based on tunes that haven't allready been mentioned here (or that I haven't seen :D ) |
