hahahahah! Good call! K-smooth Alliance 2004!
but seriously AMP was actually a decent show.. at night MTV actually did play decent music videos. AMP used to come on after 120 minutes on Sunday nights.
I remember some classic videos i watched on AMP
Brainbug-Nightmare
Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy
Daft Punk - Da Funk
Sven Vath- ( i forget whatever the track was called)
Bedrock- Heaven Scent
Richie Hawtin -live footage from Decks EFX and 909
Plastikman aka Richie Hawtin -another song i dont remember
Mr Scruff- get a move on
Cirrus - Stop and Panic (live footage from the Moonshine over America Tour)
If MTV shows this show late nights again, and doesnt around trying to "go in the club and meet the DJ" and just show the videos than i'm all for it.
BTW..does anyone remember the contest MTV held a couple years back where you could have a dinner with Sasha & Digweed and then see em play live ( i think it was at Twilo...not sure though). Looking back it seemed that MTV at that time was almost making a step in the right direction.
But they didnt :haha:

I used to watch AMP back in the day. AMP was one of the only places for a kid like me to hear this kind of music back then. Anyways, some other videos i remember seeing...
N&K - Beachball
Fluke - Atom Bomb |

| What videos MTV does or doesn't play makes absolutely no difference to me .. MTV isn't broadcast in Australia, and to be honest, I'm very glad of that :) |

Its simple, and straight-forward. Pass it along to everyone you know! |
no thanks, id rather see trance music remain underground instead of comercialized and shallow. |

Like I said before, I think the show would actually do well at a late night time spot (2am or 3am) like it was before.
Not many people are up and it would only be for people who really are interested in seeing electronica videos.
AMP, I think, had a great setup on a number of things:
1) it was broadcast late at night, so you only saw it if you were an insomniac, or if you really appreciate EDM and stayed up to watch it
2) There was no annoying VJ talking about each track or annoying stuff like that. It was just straight back to back electronic music videos
3) The videos were actually quite eclectic. Back when AMP was on, I can't remember right now who was considered cheese (Fatboy Slim maybe? :conf: ) ************, AMP showed a whole variety of genres of EDM, Trance, Breakbeat, Techno Ambient Psy etc.. they were all diverse videos and I don't think any of them made any of the artists and less respected.
Again I say if MTV can stay true to that format, then I really dont think that those videos will become commercialized and overrated. |

I'm number 31 on the list.
I didn't know about this... I don't usually watch MTV because it sucks. |
