haha, been there, done that... on one of my first days on the elderly psychiatric ward there was this woman who was pretty confused and kept wittering on about going home to feed the kids. Anyway, after a few minutes we heard this large bang and a scream - she'd only gone and tried to escape by running through the fence in the garden. When we found her, she was flat on her back with concussion :stongue:
There was another ace old woman who would try and trip you up or smack you round the ankles with her walking stick when you went past her. I've not had many incidents with young people, just one sticks in my mind of a 30ish year old woman who kept running round the ward and pulling her clothes off as she thought she had insects running all over her.
I have hundreds of stories about elderly patients I've looked after, I could go on all day. |

haha so could I!
we had a woman who thought she'd left her baby in the garden.
a man who sat at the breakfast table 'flying' a World War One plane and shouting out to us 'civilians' to take cover.
one woman who would only talk in nursery ryhmes- she bit me once as well the cow!! |
