| Don't waste your money. If you don't already have it buy Paul van Dyk's The Politics of Dancing or get one of the newer Gatecrasher - Resident Transmission. Blows Acosta sky high. |

| George Acosta = DJ that plays tracks that are somewhere in between noob material and coolness just so he can appeal to just about anybody, he also basically has 'future sell-out' written on his forehead, and I've heard from several people that he's an and ego-maniac. |

| I heard his radio show last Sunday and frankly, it was unbearable. George Acosta was probably the first "european" trance dj (even if he's not european, he has the German approach to DJing) i ever saw live. I've never really understood why so many people back home liked him. Back in the day when I was discovering the Magik series, people used to make fun of me because Acosta was just so much more popular than Tiesto back then but I stayed away from the hype. Acosta just has this overly stale melodic hard trance style that leaves me with a really bad aftertaste after a few minutes. But hey, I guess some people have reasons for liking him... |

I have an ancient 1999 CD from him called Members of X which I picked up at a pawn shop. It actually has ::gasp:: a style of its own, and is actually a very cool little compilation.
Soon after, though, he totally sold out to the fluffy popular eurotrance crap, and is today perhaps one of the least innovative and most caustic DJs in the scene. Maybe he'll have a coronary and do us a favor. ::shrug::
If you're looking for popular eurotrance, Armin does it a hell of a lot better, and has the positive attitude to back it up. |
