I remmeber back in the day Traxx used to have a special for like $65 for two tech1200s and a mixer for $70 from Sunday to Thursday. Does anyone know of anything similar in the Toronto area, but without the mixer?
Also, this may be a strange concept, but are there any places that rent out records?? Want to start playing around with vinyl but my 20 record collection from 10 years ago isn't going to be much fun..
thanks

Why do you sound so surprised?!?
Many stores rent out their tables/mixers for the weekend, but during the week it just collects dust.. so why not have a low price. I think they advertised it as a good way to practice..
Anyhow, the store closed down (at least the one on Yonge Street) so I can't tell you go to pop in and take a look. They had some decent prices for wall systems.. something like $300 for turntables, mixer, amp, speakers delivery, setup, pickup, etc. Also had a few rack mounted goodies like a sub harmonic EQ,.eetc.
so if you minus the speakers, amp and toys, it makes sense to rent just the tables + mixer for $65...
