| What are the differences in the virus B and virus C. are there different sounds in c that arent in B. Also considering the new OS that is out for C which one would u recomend. I am thinking about getting the synth and controlling it with my jp 8000 and using cubase vst 32 or sx 2...i am still confused to use vst 32 or sx 2...lange prefers vst 32 any reasons why? also i need help on choosing a studio quality sound card that has audio out on it also so i wont have to buy a converter to hear the sound coming out of my computer. |

Okay, Cubase VST 32 is the older version of Cubase. Cubase SX is the newer versions of Cubase.
Why would you want to buy a virus and controll it with a jp-8000? That doesn't make sense to me. The B is a good option if you can not afford the C. The C has another filter type now which is quite good but nothing mind blowing. |

| there aren't any real major differences with the B and C. the C has 24 polyphony, with the B having 16. the C also has some 64 voice thing with the B having 32. if you have the money, take the C. if not the B will still do the job. |

Hey,
Well pretty much most soundcards have audio outs. Not sure what you mean by "a converter". If you mean DAC, then the card will obviously have a built in DAC. I have an Audiophile 2496 that I will sell very soon for a good price, I don't need it anymore. Echo makes a good one called the MIA.
As for the Virus, I would definitely get the B desktop version. Save money and buy something else. Hell, you could get a B desktop and some fairly decent monitors for the price of a C. Good luck. |

Having owned all 3 Virus Models, I say go for the C, even tho it costs a bit more. Best place to get more info is amphea.org.
Most Access Virus "133t" tend to chime in there. Namely, Matt Piccone and Matthew Stoley - two soundesigner monsters. I am actually friendly with Matt P, who swears by Access Virus and got me "infected" with it as well. |
