Have you ever noticed that the female vocal in Gamemaster is very similar to Suburban Train's tune? I wonder how much influence it had on Tiesto when he wrote Train.

Nope.

The only vocals in Gamemaster are spoken, so how could they compare to the "tune" of another track?

If that's not what you meant, please explain.

No I mean the opera-style singing that goes on.

yep, that vocal melody on gamemaster is almost identical to the melody in suburban train.. only thing is, gamemaster came out about 3years before suburban train did... coincidince ? go figure... ALSO, the main background melody in Basic Avalon - Firewalk is the exact same notes as the main melody in Tiesto's remix of Silence.. these 2 tracks however were from around the same time.. well on my vinyl, it says 99 for both tracks.. is tiesto guilty ? i wouldnt doubt it one bit.;)

btw, i was just about to make the same thread saying, "TiesDOH !"
:D

Ah, I understand now. Never actually compared the two so I can't say if you're right or wrong.

It's not singing, yes, but it does have electronic opera effect strings in the track, which is used to much greater effect in "My Soul" by Lost Tribe.

Are you talking about the sample or the just the actual melody? There's no such thing as an original tonal melody in the 21st century. Every single possibility has already been done in some way or the other. Coincidences are even more recurrent in minimal music with structure such as trance.

Ste
how the do they sound the same?

for a start:

gamemaster = spoken vocals
urban train = sung vocals
