well if you are this weekend you can LEECH up
taken from whirlpool
"BigPond customers have an unexpected early Christmas present — unlimited usage all weekend.
An email sent to customers advising them of a major network upgrade, says the ISP's usage meter will be unavailable for use from about 5pm Friday until about midday Sunday.
While there is nothing unusual about temporary outages on Telstra's usage meter, this upgrade seems unusually charged with Christmas cheer: "To protect you from being disadvantaged in any way, we will not be charging you for any of your usage while the usage meter is not available," the email says."
in summary this weekend from 5pm friday till midday sunday... = unlimited downloads!!! cut sick! |

Nice. :)
Thanks for the tip, just found this e-mail in my inbox:
| quote: | | Your weekend’s usage will not be added to your total usage. Once the usage meter starts updating, it will display your approximate usage for the month, excluding any usage incurred while the usage meter was not available over the weekend. |
Anyone got 20-30 sets they want to recommend? :D |

I'm on the ing 3 gig plan, it's hell. Why I can't convince the parents to get some small ISP with unlimited I don't know :( |

read between the lines children, not only will telstra's useage meter be down across the weekend, but more than likely so will the rest of its network, hence no internet access :haha: :)
thank you and have a nice day,
telstra. |

I've been working at Telstra's main exchange in Melboune last few days and there seems to be nothing out of the ordinary happening in the computer rooms apart from even more cisco stuff going in.
That place is a bloody fortress, NO ONE gets in or out unless they are really meant to be there.
Been working in the main computer floor, I have never seen so many routers, switches, core routers, patch panels, firewalls, servers and one totally massive SUN server. Like this thing has 12 HUGE electricity plugs going to it, a load of processor modules and disk storage that you only dream of. This was also linked to two cabinets of Compaq disks, 8 in a cabinet, each disk has 6 78GB Ultra SCSI disks in it.... I mean, wtf? what they trying to store??? Answer: The White and Yellow pages and more.
Up until yesterday I thaught these places only existed in organisations such as the NSA. How wrong I was. |

| Are you guys sure about this? I rang Telstra and they said although it will not show up on the meter during this time, anything you download will still show up, just not for a few days. |

Well this is what it says in their email:
| quote: | | Your weekend’s usage will not be added to your total usage. |
If it does end up being added I think they'll have a few irate customers to deal with on Monday. :-/ |
