The one thing I hate more than fascist dictators are Mets fans. Stick to something you're good at, like begging Piazza to play first base (and don't even think of giving me about that...you guys have been arguing whether he should or shouldn't since THE VERY DAY you aquired him)... |

Ok here's my take:
Yanks don't really need Hasegawa or Foulke. I'm really not all too exited about Flash because of his arm troubles. I'm also still not too sure about Hammond either, age might hit him. I like Heredia, and BRAVO for QUANTRILL!! Something tells me that he'll definitely flourish.
Don't cry the season away just yet Shamus: Boston might just get A-Rod...
NYCTranceFan: No need to argue too in depth about baseball economics. All you need to do is mention the name "Carl Polhad" and all is right with the world...well, our world at least ;).... |

| i never cry the season away. i'm a mets fan. i'm used to losing. :toothless and i'm getting excited (like i do every season) since it's 99.9% that we'll have kaz matsui. originally, i was pissed cause i didnt want to see reyes move to 2B, but then i remembered. edgardo alfonso. he was originally a SS, but the mets moved him to second because of rey ordonez (i still say ordonez and fonzie were the best middle infield in the game. period.) and look at what fonzie was. defensively, he was the best 2B in the majors for those 2 seasons. and with matt galante, who turned wigginton into a bonafide 3Baseman and Phillips into a bonafide 1Basemen, i have high hopes for kaz and reyes in the middle. stay tuned to baseball tonite and you'll be likely to see kaz and jose on webgems. :p |

an analyst on espn i forgot which one not peter gammons said that a source told him that kaz matsui would be a better 2nd basemen than a SS i wonder if the mets should try this so it wouldnt have to distract reyes during the season moving to a new position |

perhaps, but one of the main reasons we got kaz and not the other NY team is because we said he will play SS everyday. if we were just gonna put him at 2B, then the yankees (who, without a doubt, would offer him more more money) would definitely have gotten him and moved sori to OF...
i can't wait till scott kazmir is ready to come to the majors. but they definitely need to wait on him like they did with reyes. i dont want kazmir to be another jason isringhausen. this kid was throwing 95-97 in HS. :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: there are major league pitchers whose fastballs arent that fast and this kid's doing it at age 17. i can't wait... |

damn 95-97 thats nuts but he would need to learn to throw other pitches i.e. changeup like pedro he has one of the best in the game. look at benitez all he did was throw fastballs and didnt really change the his pitch selection it was always the good old #1 thats why he got bombed. |

well, my brother (who is mr. baseball) said that you can compare kazmir to a slightly-worse randy johnson. he said, besides the fastball, he has a cutter and john franco is helping him on his changeup. it would be the greatest ever if he could get eric gagne's change up. so he throw a 97 mph fastball and a 65 mph change. ::drool:: he would be to hitters what ronaldo is to defenders, (he'd make them look like complete fools) but that won't happen. i'll be happy with that fastball and a franco-esque change. throw a curve in there and we'll be straight. |
