| durring the summer of 1998 i was helping my dad build a new deck in our back yard. We hired this older guy to help us that my mom new of who was down on his luck, so we gave him a bit of work. Anyways, he was shaddy looking and i guess has a bad track record for being shady. So my dad said that there was no need for him to be in our house and just incase he made sure he was in the backyard with me so i wouldn't be alone with the guy. Sure enough, one day i was in the house making lunch and the guy kept banging on the door every 5 minutes asking me for more juice. So i gave him juice but after 3 or 4 times i closed the door. We finished the next day. Two weeks later, we read in the news that he was babysitting some children and sexually molested them in their beds and ejaculated on one of thier thighs. That gave me such chills. You really have to be careful who you trust. |

this reminds me of a girl that mysteriously disappeared from Penn State on Halloween 2 years ago...

there wasn't even a lead for those 2 years...it was even on Unsolved Mysteries...
nothing came up till this year...when a neighbor of a middle-aged man reported something fishy next door...(and i think one of the captors came forward)
cops went to this man's house and found NUMEROUS dead bodies on the property...some of students, some of just other people...
still haven't found her body apparently, but the man that came forward said the other guy had "taken what he wanted from her and then disposed of her"...
the story continues into the man being arrested, put in the Centre County Jail whom no one has ever truly escaped from since it was built...
next morning, a string of bedsheets could be seen hanging from the 5th floor window...
apparently, he and his cell mate planned the escape, but as the cell mate was crawling down, the guy pushed him down and he broke a bunch of bones (critical enough that he couldn't move after having fallen)...
the man escaped, but was caught a day later at his mother's house i believe...

Yes I've heard of this case, and it makes me so angry if it really is a repeat offender who is involved in her disappearance (probable slaying). I mean, it makes you understand why there is support for the death penalty, even if it is administered unfairly upon the poor and minority in the United States. They should release all the people who are in jail for petty drug offenses to make room for the people who really should be in there....

What it doesn't say in his err bio, is whether the contact was forced or consensual, which I would consider a big deal. The age of sexual consent is 17 years of age, thus a man his age (with that big of an age difference between the two parties) could face prosecution for sexual contact with a 16 year old. Without giving my opinion as to whether that is morally right or wrong, I think it's important to differentiate between a case of someone being fondled or raped against their will, versus a case where the "victim" consented. They should include that information in the database imo, but since he was not given jailtime, I think it's reasonable to assume there was consent. If there was not consent, our legal system is more ed up than I had ever imagined to let someone like that go free. Ok I will admit it seems somewhat ed up that an old man would be having a relationship with a young girl (even a "legal" one); Springer fodder for sure, but the point I'm trying to make is that it doesn't mean that person should be placed in the same category with people who stalk, rape, and throw their victim in a ditch. Nonetheless, I think the database is a novel idea.
From what I've read, "deferred adjudication" seems to be tantamount to "probation," but I'm not really sure. If anyone with legal knowledge could clear that up for us...;) |
