Back from Loveparade (Berlin)

well, how should I begin? It was just AWESOME. I know many people here watched some live-streams, but it will not give you the atmosphere that is there. So much energy. Everything was perfect. Great weather, and our float (North Energy) was the first to start from Brandenburger Tor. This is really an honor, cause there is no music before WE start. A million people are waiting for us to start the parade, and when the music finally begins, everybody just goes NUTS! :D
Brooklyn Bounce DJ Mathias Menck started on our truck (I like this better than "float"), disappointed a little bit, cause he played some slow house which nobody expected and it didn't have enough energy...
He played for about 50 minutes, then it was HOLZI (nobody knows him, he's a local from North-Germany) for 20 minutes he played some nice hard Tracid-Trax.
When we were about 20 minutes away from first passing the Siegessäule, Gollum (from Janni & Gollum - Shadows and Lights) took over. People were going crazy to his banging set!!! He played for an hour and then it was my turn!!!
Here is what I played, not exactly in this order:

(Intro) Sons Of Ilsa - Jetzt gehts los!
Marcel Woods - Dee Boon 2001 (started with the siren part)
Arome - Somebody
Cosmic Gate - Fire Wire (LCF Mix)
The Trancecore Project - Circles (Charly Lownoise Mix)
Warmduscher - 10 Kleine Bassdrums (Palle Pille Mix)
Prezioso - Raise Your Power
DJ Scotty - ? B2 (from S-Z)
VooDoo & Serano - Slide To The Vibe
DJ Ufuk - R2D2
Thomas Trouble - Insane Asylum (Pedro Del Mar Mix)
Axel Konrad - R.U.F.F. Cuts (Club Mix)
DJ Valium - Doin It Again
Divino - Proper To Men
System F - Out Of The Blue
Junkfood Junkies - The Journey (J.J. Reworks Mix)
Spacekid - Tune! (SQ-1 Clubb Mix)
Justin K & DJ K-Mixx - Northern Lights
VooDoo & Serano - Blood Is Pumpin' (Pumpin' Clubmix)
Stromtraxx - My Acid Dream
DJ Misjah & DJ Tim - Access
Testpressing - Keep The Vibe Alive (Chapter 2 Mix)
Pep'N Up - Time & Space (Warp Brothers Mix)
Abuse - Hard & Fast (Hard Mix)
Gigi D'Agostino - Coca & Havana
Avalon - Eleven Asako
Joy Kitikonti - Joyenergizer

I got to play the longest set (over 1:30h), cause Marco di Micoli (Hypetraxx) had to leave the truck for an interview, and Mirko Milano didn't want to play(!). After me, The Crow played for another half hour and then we were at Siegessäule again were every truck had to broadcast the show from the DJs (Westbam, Paul...)
Took a lot of pictures, but no digicam, so you'll have to wait a little.
This was one of the best parties I ever had :):D:)

Good for you, pal! I wish I could have been there...

Cool dawn.
Great trax too. Maybe we will find your live set on the net and take it a listen
djdawn
DJ Lex, I don't think you will be able to find a rip of my set, as the sets on our truck were not recorded :(

As for the trax, what worked REALLY well was:
Trancecore Project: it's a bit cheap, but hard hitting, and when it gets faster and faster all the people were screaming

Warmduscher: I happened to play this when we were under a bridge, everybody was blowing their whistle, screaming, crazy!

DJ Scotty: Great bouncy part in the middle. The truck was bouncing cause all the people were jumping

Avalon: If you don't know this, try to dl it. It's from 98 and has the craziest build-up ever.

Testpressing: Hardest jump-up bass I know. Crazy stuff.

Maybe some of you even saw me on the broadcast? I was on the Northenergy truck (float #2). I was on the front, dancing my A** off on the roof of a toilet we had on board, wearing a beige shirt and beige/green pants with lots of zippers and pockets...
Proxi? Chocolate Jesus? JP? Wanna join my thread?

I was there, and judging from the times quoted on djdawn's post I heard Gollum (yeehaaa) which fits perfectly well with my impression of the first truck from the east. I'll post pics when I get the ones taken with a digital camera, and perhaps the ones taken with APS if and when I get to a scanner. We were five people of which two (I'm one of them) were already hopelessly in love with electronica and three pupils who were literally speechless after the parade. Kai Tracid was a *HUGE* experience. When he passed our spot, it was DJ Warmduscher (I think) who were spinning, yeat KT was leaning out the truck bashing his hands and cheering the crowd...commitment guaranteed - and they even played Picotto...
Everybody was sooo happy and there was even a little old lady in front of us who brought her old fold-out-chair and a news paper. When the parade was over, the part of Tiergarten with the gold statue was transformed into a huge "club" with Westbam, Dr. Motte and others. Luke Slater was particularly impressive, giving a Picotto-like performance which resulted in me going beserk.

Those of you who didn't go: Go next year - it's the ultimate party!

Even friday at some square in the middle of Berlin, there was a small booth selling beers that brought together a local DJ, a strobe-light and a pair of speakers... In five minutes he had about 50 people dancing to DJ Rush's "Do You Like Bass"(Chistopher Just Remix) and when we emerged from KFC half an hour later there were 200 people going nuts to Guess Who (Scooter)'s "Posse". We went to a train station and changed for club gear and when we returned two hours later the place was steaming with (my guess) 2000 people hopping along to De Mooor's "Fly away", Madonna's "What it feels like for a girl", Blaze's "My Beat" (This was awasome! My new number 1), The Joker's "Milky Way" and a Nalin & Kane remix (can't remember which one). Apart from the stupid s who's got no clue what "loveparade" means (pushing, yelling, biting, scowling and throwing glassbottles into the crowd) it was amazing. I'll be back next year for sure - too bad I didn't get a chance to get on djdawn's truck (a lot of other twisted dancers did :))
