save up and get a nikon D100 or canon 10D if u dont' wanna save up that much than get a 300D or the D70 thats gonna come out soon.
but then again lookin at ur budget and the cams u listed I dont' think u are gonna need a dslr, seems more like u just need a point and shoot camera. |

heh, what timing. I'm thinking of buying a Digicam this month so this thread will come in handy since i'm digicam-retarded at this point.
From what I looked at, I really like the Canon Powershot SD10. The A-series cams are supposedly good, but they look so damn ugly; I want a cam that looks sleek and sexy and is good bait for thugs from back home in Poland, haha.
The Cannon Rebel..holy , the detail is incredible, but it's way too expensive.
I found the SD10 for $469CDN...good price?
edit one other question, how much do SD mem cards go for? and how widely available are they? |

get at least 128.
i have a canon elph s330 and the card that came with it - 8megs - could hold only 8 shots at full size / resolution, so actually, i got a 128mb card before i got the camera... sure.... it was barely enough for a night of hybrid... you know, shooting many videos and all... |

Haha, yea...the SD10 comes with a 32MB card I believe...
...now I just gotta find a place that sells them :-\ cuz from the looks of it the place where i would get the cam doesn't have SD mem cards.
edit oh no, wait...ya they do. 128MB for $74CDN. I think I'll stick with the 32MB and then later on, around March get a 128card. |

I heard the SD10 comes with a 10 meg card...not sure.
But i dunno the SD10 seems to only to mention digital zoom in its specs. Which is kind of wierd.
Does anyone know how much optical zoom it has? |
